Help edit

I'm new here and any suggestion you have would be greatly appreciated! --Soapforgoodnesssake 16:57, 20 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'd be glad to help, but it may not be for a couple of days. I'm closing down the Wombatcat account for various reasons that don't matter here and will resume under a new name once the change goes through. I suggest in the meantime you read the main Soap article and look at how your content might be incorporated. A lot of what you've said is already there, in more encyclopedic language.
Please be very careful about anything that looks at all like advertising or promotion. People around here (including me) tend to treat it harshly. On the other hand, Wikipedia has a policy entitled "Don't Bite the Newbies", which is why I'm happy to help somebody who asks. We're trying to be inclusive here, and you've been willing to listen.
Some reading below:
At the end of the day, I would have to say that this article should still be merged with Soap. Wombatcat 17:45, 20 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
By the way, I'll contact you on your userpage when I have the namechange sorted out. Wombatcat 17:47, 20 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks edit

Thank you for helping me by reverting the changes made on my user page--~*Twinkler4*~ 01:55, 14 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

My humblest apologies, it looks like we were trying to clean the same page at the same time, and Wikipedia got everything crossed up. I've removed the template I mistakenly placed here. Wildthing61476 17:34, 14 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, no problem. This sort of thing happens when we're all trying to combat ignorance. Wombatcat 17:37, 14 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Tibet edit

Welcome to Wikipedia? What? i've made over 35,000 edits to wikipedia. I'm in the top 100 editors . Dharkay is a notable landmark in Lhasa. It isn't blatant advertising -but I can see your view. I'm trying to fill in knowledge of the city. Perhaps I can move the page andmention it in the main Lhasa article ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 18:32, 15 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thats cool. I moved the restaurant to the Lhasa page -it is a prominent landmark of the city but perhaps not enough info for an article. I am just in the middle of writing a beautiful article dealing eith the History of Exploration in Tibet which is a bit more encyclopedic!!. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 19:20, 15 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

hey I started the History of Exploration in Tibet page anyway which i think is useful!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 20:21, 15 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I don't know !!!! Ha, I'll see if there is enough info for an article -it would make a cracking DYK!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 20:28, 15 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Question: edit

"An article you recently created, Stoughton High School, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for new articles, so it will shortly be removed (if it hasn't been already)."

I asked a question in a nonexistent talk page. Instead of clarifying my inquiry, you have assumed I was messing with something, and deleted the created page. Aren't talk pages meant for topics like inquiries on certain Wikipedia Pages, or an attempt to make the page better? Wouldn't asking a question about a confusing paragraph in an attempt for more clarification be better for Wikipedia? Thank you for your time, Wombatcat. 65.96.144.190 13:29, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Um, which article does this relate to? A "nonexistent talk page"? I may have flagged a creation of yours (but you wouldn't be able to create an article from an IP address), but I'm not an administrator. I can't delete anything. An administrator had to agree and delete it. However, Stoughton High School exists (and needs a lot of clean up), so it wasn't that. I can see that I issued a warning to the IP you mention, but there's no other history or any questions that were posed at that IP talk page. I'd be glad to help, but I need something to work with. Wombatcat 01:12, 19 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Why did you delete my page?

But how was it nonsense Daviddowler

How could i prove the game exists Daviddowler

Please could you now see if the article we talked of before has sufficient sources for a repost and get back to me Daviddowler

Egocentric edit

Thought that was what you were doing, but it's hard to tell sometimes. Wombatcat 01:59, 21 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sorry I don't understand Eduemoni 02:00, 21 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Talk:Egocentric Wikipedians. You added the humo(u)r tag after I tagged it for deletion. Since it seemed to be self-authored, I figured it was self-commentary. Wombatcat 02:05, 21 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
So? I don't get the point. =S
You mean you did it wrong way? Ohh mess, it will give you a little trouble.

Hannah overstreet edit

I changed the speedy deletion tag to {{db-attack}} because it is more of an attack page than a violation of WP:BLP. Generally, articles that only disparage the subject (i.e She has few friends due to her contagious diabetes. and herpes) should be tagged as attack. --Cyrus Andiron 12:38, 23 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

User pages edit

Please make sure when using Twinkle to distinguish between article space pages and user space pages. Non-disruptive user pages are generally allowed, however silly. Thanks. Chick Bowen 04:13, 25 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

please stop edit

it is my old page, but i lost the password and didnt have an email attached to it. just trying to clear the page and let it die, google is a monster for digging crap up that has text on it. if you dont believe me, the least you can do is let it stand, if the "real owner" (ie: me!) doesnt like my changes they can unedit it. ~hamtastesgood

thank you ~hamtastesgood

Nofollow is not the issue here edit

You said: "Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings."

The nofollow attribute value is not meant for blocking access to content or preventing content to be indexed by search engines. Check your Wiki rulebook. Thanks much for your speedy deletion of my contributions. Next time I'll misspell my words and ignore my grammar; maybe then you'll leave me alone. Sweetalker79 00:29, 8 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
