I believe this user may be from IP 129.96.234.230 as as soon as that IP was blocked after I reverted some edits, he vandalized my user page, then vandalized one of the same pages as the IP address had, then embarked on a 22 minute spree of random vandalism. Non-commercial CC images edit

In fact, all those images are clearly under non-commercial licences if you look at the original pages from which they were taken; the uploader mistagged them. Please take some care before mass reverting good-faith edits which are in fact correct:

You recently blocked User:Fattdoggy indefinitely. I had a look through his edit history, and it seems pretty benign, mainly sticking to his own userpage or adding {{indefblock}} templates to blocked users. He has also made the [occasional useful edit]. As far as I can tell, his block has been mostly for his experimentation with the DEFCON template. I feel that an indefinite block is too harsh, and that with WP:ADOPT or similar guidance, User:Fattdoggy could become a useful member of the community.

Oh, I'm not a sock before you ask (Special:Contributions/LukeSurl)

User Fattdoggy edit

I believe that User Fattdoggy had made edits in good faith. I request that you remove the indef block to a more reasonable block. This being said, if there are edits that I am unaware of, other than the edits to {{Wdefcon}}, please let me know and I may be in support of this block. I have been trying to help this editor out. I may be wrong about good faith edits, however, I feel that I have the right to assume it! Thanks again for any comment on this situation. Even if you choose not to unblock this editor, I would much appreciated why an indef block is appropriate? Thanks again! -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 05:35, 6 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

I believe this edit to rock music was him trying to add emo to the list of musical genres (we should Assume good faith no?). It also seems harsh to block somebody for trying to talk to Jimbo, however silly his suggestion. From what I see, this is a naïve but ambitious user, who just needs some guidance to point him in the right direction. LukeSurl 12:40, 6 January 2007 (UTC) Reply

A very Californian RfA thanks from Luna Santin edit

Thanks for your support in my not-so-recent RfA, which succeeded with a final tally of (97/4/4)! I've never been able to accept compliments gracefully, and the heavy support from this outstanding community left me at a complete loss for words -- so, a very belated thank you for all of your kind words.

I have done and will continue to do the utmost to serve the community in this new capacity, wherever it may take me, and to set an example others might wish to follow in. With a little luck and a lot of advice, this may be enough. Maybe someday the enwiki admins of the future will look back and say, "Yeah, that guy was an admin." Hopefully then they don't start talking about the explosive ArbComm case I got tied into and oh what a drama that was, but we'll see, won't we?

Surely some of you have seen me in action by now; with that in mind, I openly invite and welcome any feedback here or here -- help me become the best editor and sysop I can be.

Again, thank you. –Luna Santin
This has been long overdue, I'm afraid. See you on the wiki. :) Luna Santin 12:26, 13 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
