Hello, WilliamOrrell888, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Thank you YesI'mOnFire! This is super helpful!
I do have a conflict interest but also a thorough understanding of the subject of the article. I provided 50 sources to demonstrate notability and ensure credibility. Sport stacking is a niche sport, but William Orrell is considered among the most famous stackers of all time. William Orrell is mentioned on wikipedia in the sport stacking world records page and 2024 in sports page.
You said I could draft the article and ask you about proofreading before submission. How in particular could I go about that? I've already submitted the draft and it hasn't been deleted, so is it recommended to leave it as is or resubmit after you proofread? I work at a University Writing Center, so I have a decent eye for editing, so I feel like what I submitted is already decently neutral, comprehensive, and comprehensible. This article would be a great resource for sport stackers and others to learn the details of his long career in the sport. Nowhere else on the web is his history and accomplishments laid out in such an organized, thorough and linear way.
Please let me know how it is recommended I proceed. Thanks so much for the help! WilliamOrrell888 (talk) 15:49, 1 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself, at Draft:William Orrell. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Notable people who have edited Wikipedia). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. jlwoodwa (talk) 05:41, 1 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
