Welcome!

edit

Hello, WillArlenNess, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Arlen Ness, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Proposed deletion of Zach ness

edit

The article Zach ness has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Speedy deletion nomination of Cory ness

edit

Hello WillArlenNess,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Cory ness for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Blackguard 19:44, 8 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

In regards to the article on Cory, yes he is an influential figure in the motorcycle industry along with his father Arlen, but as per Wikipedia guidelines it would be best if you put citations and references to back up his notability. Also, are you a relative of Arlen or just someone editing on his behalf? Blake Gripling (talk) 23:51, 8 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • Hi Will! Welcome to WikiProject Motorcycling. I see you've done some trial and error edits, which is fine. But remember you don't have to edit blindly; there are others who are happy to answer any questions. If the question relates to a particular article, go to the talk page of that article, e.g. Talk:Zach Ness. For more general questions, atart a new discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Motorcycling, or try any of the several ways to get help listed at Help:Contents.

Remember that if you're editing on topics that you have a connection to, such as the Arlen Ness businesses, you should be familiar with the guidelines at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. I also recommend the following reading:
