Mark Twain Vaction Home Quarry Farm, a page you created, has been deleted as a copyright violation, as most of the text was taken literally from [1]. Wikipedia pages should be based upon reliable sources, but written in your own words.

If you would recreate this article, perhaps Quarry Farm would be a better title, since that seems to be the name that this house or location is best known as. Fram (talk) 20:09, 1 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Eric S. Raymond loginataka

edit

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Eric S. Raymond loginataka, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Proposed deletion of Eric S. Raymond loginataka

edit

The article Eric S. Raymond loginataka has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

These are genuine quotations from a well-known IT industry figure. However on their own they are not appropriate content for the encyclopedia per WP:NOTCATALOG.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Thparkth (talk) 04:23, 11 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

{{adminhelp}}

Hi Wilee,

You asked on my talk page how you could get the content of this article back so you could submit it to WikiQuote.

The answer is that you can ask an administrator to restore the article to your user space. I'm not an administrator so I can't do this for you, but I've put this message here so some friendly administrator can see that you're looking for help!

Cheers,

Thparkth (talk) 20:30, 10 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

I'll do that for you - give me a few minutes...  Ronhjones  (Talk) 20:39, 10 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:SunUltra60.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:SunUltra60.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 08:06, 30 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:SunUltra60.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:38, 30 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Stratolaunch and Falcon 5

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but we cannot accept original research. Original research also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. N2e (talk) 01:07, 15 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Appreciate your enthusiasm on the Stratolaunch Systems and Falcon 5 articles. But please be sure that all assertions you wish to make in a Wikipedia articles are verifiably sourced with a reliable source citation. Cheers. N2e (talk) 01:11, 15 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Space Shuttle Inspiration, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Rockwell (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Nexus 7. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. ViperSnake151  Talk  01:41, 31 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Crowbar (software) and Katello have been deleted, as they both contained substantial amounts of content copied from elsewhere. I see that you have received several messages about copyright infringements, the first one being from just over five years ago. Following copyright law is not optional, and if you continue to post copyright-infringing material you may be blocked from editing. JamesBWatson (talk) 20:28, 5 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

If some thing is GPL aka like the sources that that has been cite such as GPL v2 etc , it has a copy right that can be used by wikipedia IMHO, as someone who has 10+ years in the open source movement it is sad when people delete things that people pay me to install.

Inappropriate updates to Spacewalk_(software) page

edit

Please review January 2017 updates to Spacewalk_(software) page [1].

Especially review the phrase As Red Hat wishes to Knife the Baby of Satellite 5

It appears there are breaches of various Wikipedia Policy/guidelines [2] including possible bias.

Thankyou

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
