I am just beginning my editing experience with wikipedia.

The first article I wanted to comment upon is on Hosur. I lived in Hosur for many years in my childhood before the place got industrialized. I studied in Hosur from 1956-1963. My mother tongue is Tamil. I am noting these here for the reference of people who wish to know my credentials with respect to the points I mention in the discussion pages of the article about Hosur.

Seeking help

I have a part time role as an executive in Wikimedia India Chapter. Often I faced the problem of identifying a volunteer in a geography to be able to support a new initiative in that geography. In such situations, I look for articles that relate to the geography and seek out editors who have contributed to the article on that place. Often those who write about a place may not be resident there. But this is one way to find support in an odd place, when other approaches fail. Though I have a different log in for the chapter, I use this identity to be able to post requests. If you came here through such posts, please do respond to the mail id I have posted on the message. Thank you sir for sharing your childhood days in Hosur, every one acknowledges the fact that Hosur historically part of Mysore kingdom and due to fourth mysore war, where Tippu Sultan last and gave the south-eastern part of mysore kingdom to British as a settlement. South-eastern part of mysore Kingdom include present day Hosur and Denkanikottai Talukas which had mostly Telugu and Kannada speaking population. Hosur became the head quarters for Salem District in then Madras Presidency.

When states where re-organised on linguistic basis as a part of state re-organisation, it was widely debated that Hosur should have been included either in Karnataka or Andhrapradhesh due to the fact that people of Hosur culturally or language wise are simmilar to Karnataka or Andhra Pradesh but the great man C R Rajaji to keep his CM chair in Madras joined hands with Nehru and Gandhiji to keep the Hosur in Madras state but this Telugu Brahmin C R Rajaji betrayed Hosur people as they had no voice as their Telugu Bedda Rajaji who was their only sole Leader at National level wanted only political power nothing else. I can even contest this with the following facts.

1. Why there is no single Government Degree College in Hosur even after 67 years of Independent though we are one of the biggest Industrial towns in India - what a shame? it's becaue Hosur never elected Tamil Parties either DMK or AIADMK, it means that we have no voice in the assembly. 2. Our Tamil Brothers / sisters have migrated to Hosur after the Sipcot Started during 1980 and made this town as their home, even today Tamil, Kannadigas and Telugus live peacefully - which is truly cosmopolitan. 3. With reference point 2, as we respect our Tamil brotherhood and we also expect them to respect Kannada and Telugu language by not changing the accent of local names and culture - for example Chandrachudeswara temple name reads in Tamil accent, I would request them to change it to the original name as per the Kannada and Telugu way of pronoucing as this deity as the home deity for the millions of people living in Hosur, Denkanikottai, Malur, Kanakapura and Bangalore district. Point to remember this town and the temple was built by Kannada kings Hoyasalas. 4.Historically People of this town have their near and dear ones in Karnataka or Andhrapradesh only, No one have their relatives beyond Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri district. Tamil Nadu government should run the state buses to the places mentioned above from all the villages in Hosur taluk for the benefit of the masses? why this is not done when the govenment makes so much of revenue from this place. 5. Even today, all the villages in Hosur and Denkanikotai Talukas have more or less 100% Telugu or Kannada speaking population only, what it means that these people are originals and as per the constituition, government has the duty to help these people preserve their language, culture and habits. 6. Political leaders in Karnataka and Andhrapradesh not really interested to help people of Hosur as their only duty to do politics I like the Tamil nadu people for their care and well being as I see their feelings and fight towards to protect Tamils in Srilanka. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.192.149.29 (talk) 17:28, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
