Guideline and policy news
- An RfC is open proposing a change to the minimum activity requirements for administrators.
Technical news
- Access to Special:RevisionDelete has been expanded to include users who have the
deletelogentryanddeletedhistoryrights. This means that those in the Researcher user group and Checkusers who are not administrators can now access Special:RevisionDelete. The users able to view the special page after this change are the 3 users in the Researcher group, as there are currently no checkusers who are not already administrators. (T301928) - When viewing deleted revisions or diffs on Special:Undelete a back link to the undelete page for the associated page is now present. (T284114)
Arbitration
- Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Procedures § Opening of proceedings has been updated to reflect current practice following a motion.
- A arbitration case regarding Skepticism and coordinated editing has been closed.
- A arbitration case regarding WikiProject Tropical Cyclones has been opened.
Miscellaneous
- Voting for the Universal Code of Conduct Enforcement guidelines has closed, and the results were that 56.98% of voters supported the guidelines. The results of this vote mean the Wikimedia Foundation Board will now review the guidelines.
Creating Pages. edit
Hello!
I am having trouble creating pages. I was wondering if there were any clear instructions on how to do so. Both of the pages I tried to create were rejected. I think that they are known enough by some people to create a page, but I understand the average person does not know who they are. I want to create pages for businesses and people mostly artists before they gain a huge following. I wonder if this will be an issue because they don't have a lot of info about them published but I see people with Pages that have far less. I don't know whats a right amount of articles to attach to make them get published.

- Hi! Thank you for taking the time to ask. You should probably read WP:YFA, it'll detail everything you need to know. It's difficult to create pages for things before they get noticed, because NOTABILITY is one our main guidelines. That means that they have to be noticed and known enough for reliable, third-party source to write significant coverage about them. It's difficult, but no one expects you to write an article on your first few tries! Find a notable subject and read on citing good sources. Speedy deletion nomination of Igrechlaurentian/Forensic engineering edit
A tag has been placed on Igrechlaurentian/Forensic engineering, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Teyora - Development first look! edit
Hi! I'm Ed6767, the original creator of RedWarn, now one of the most popular tools on the English Wikipedia that's been used by over 1,000 Wikimedians to make over 300,000 edits since mid-2020 that's been praised for its user friendliness and ease of use, but criticised for its limited functionality. I'm leaving this message as I think it may be of interest here - I left the RedWarn project in November to develop Teyora, my successor to RedWarn (alongside Chlod's UltraViolet). It's a new in development web app that uses some of the latest web technologies to create a highly extendable all in one editing tool with a focus on administration, counter vandalism and general patrolling - not to mention, it'll work on every Wikimedia project without any prior configuration and can be used by any user with at least auto-confirmed rights*. Now, I'm ready to give the Wikimedia community a first look at what I've been doing over the past six months and what to expect going forward.
