License tagging for Image:Pathways Pic.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Pathways Pic.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:09, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Pathways Pic edit

Hey, thanks for getting my pic of Pathways Into Darkness back up where it belongs. I owe you one.

Heh, no thanks. I just hope I put the right info in it (which I think I did). I'm always happy if I can help improving an article about a game, especially if the game is very old or less known. DreamingLady 15:10, 20 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Gamer's Cover.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Gamer's Cover.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:17, 1 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Gamer's Cover.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Gamer's Cover.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Geniac 19:21, 13 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:Bob Kelly Summer 2008.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Bob Kelly Summer 2008.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 01:06, 13 July 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Don't forget... edit

WP:CIVIL (re your edit summar to Walking Dead) - BalthCat (talk) 02:20, 25 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Civil!?! I've been civil with this moron for over a year now and he STILL insists on making changes to this article that he can't back up with ANY type of facts or references under a puppet account. I've had it up to here with him! Excuse me if I'm a little UNcivil to someone who repeatedly and willingly makes changes that are just plain WRONG and keeps making them cuz it's HIS opinion and wants his way like a friggin' 4-year old!

You were reminded politely about a Wikipedia policy which you are supposed to adhere to, despite all of the things you just mentioned. I didn't say it would be easy. I didn't insult you. You then proceeded to be uncivil with me, some one who has never spoken to you beforehand. (Even if established issues were an excuse, you couldn't use that excuse with me.) I suggest you read the policy again, or at the very least, take a break from something that is causing you to lash out at other people. - BalthCat (talk) 04:33, 26 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
(For context, the header of this post on my talk page was "Check yourself" which is exceedingly confrontational.) - BalthCat (talk) 04:34, 26 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
Last time I checked you were NOT an admin. If you don't like getting flamed, get off the interwebs little boy!White_Bishop (talk) 17:21, 26 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
I am not required to be an Admin to remind you that you are behaving inappropriately. Are you suggesting that, rather than politely reminding people, every time I see some one doing something inappropriate, I contact an admin? - BalthCat (talk) 23:03, 26 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
No I'm calling you a sniveling little weasle who likes to stick his nose in where it doesn't belong and gets off on telling others about the "rules," cuz you have no control over your own life so you like to try to boss others around on the interwbs so you can pretend you have control of something. Now kindly piss off you douche. White_Bishop (talk) 17:00, 29 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
Wait... BalthCat, I'm sorry. I've got no right snapping at you like this. You're not my problem, you were just reminding me of a policy, not being a jerk about it at all. It's this other guy that has me upset and I took it out on you. I'm really sorry I snapped at you and said that mean crap. Can we put this pointless arguement behind us and just move forward? Please? :-(White_Bishop (talk) 17:14, 29 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
Apology accepted. Wikipedia can be hair-pullingly frustrating sometimes. - BalthCat (talk) 08:39, 1 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
