  1. The Football League XI is a team which plays occasional matches and represents The Football League. All the players who play in the league can be chosen for it, no matter what their nationality. There is no specific article in WP on it.
  2. The English Schools XI is the team which represents England at schoolboy level. Boys from any school in England can be chosen to play for it. The closest article is English Schools' Football Association. This is the organisation that chooses the team.
  3. That means that during the 1955-56 football season, he played for Manchester United but also played in army matches as well. In total he played over one hundred.
