February 2012 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Kim Weston has been reverted.
Your edit here to Kim Weston was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.youtube.com/user/kimwestonfanpage) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 19:34, 28 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello Weston.kim1220. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about following the reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. NTox · talk 19:51, 28 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi, again. As said, you are absolutely welcome to edit, but I wanted to pass on something else: note that social networking sites and YouTube do not constitute reliable sources in this encyclopedia, and that we cannot accept personal assessments of accuracy since all of our information needs to be verifiable. I have reverted those changes. Have a good one. --NTox · talk 19:59, 28 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Kim Weston do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia.

Autobiography edit

Can I suggest that you may like to read Wikipedia:Autobiography. In particular, this gives advice here on what should be done if you are concerned about the accuracy of an article about yourself. Regards, Ghmyrtle (talk) 21:28, 28 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

April 2012 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Kim Weston. When removing content, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the content has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Kim Weston edit

I replied on my talk but i'll leave it hear as well in case you dont see it.

The reason I reverted your edit was because you just removed the reference list and {{reflist}}tag. This can create problems on the page. If you feel the AllMusic.com source is inaccurate then you can remove the individual references to it in the main part of the text, but remember to give a reason for their removal in the edit summary so other editors know why. As for the photo, where did you upload it to? If you place [[Image:filename|thumb]] on the page and replace 'filename' with the name of your photo (photo.jpg) for example), then it should show up. Replace 'width' with a number (eg. 250). If you have any problems just let me know and i'll try to help. One more note, If you are a close friend I suggest you wikipedias guidelines on conflict of interest, the pages are already linked at the top of your talk page.Sarahj2107 (talk) 16:54, 26 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
