I read it in some forum but I have no proof of it. What is sure is that RUP and UP are close and the boundary is not so clear. The best explanation I found is: "The differents between RUP and UP is nothing but the name. When RUP became an international standard for IT development processes, it was imposible to use the R in RUP. Because the R stands for Rational, which is a company. An international standard should not have a company-name! Thats why the R was excluded!" I am glad to tell you that, out local chapter, Wikimedia Hong Kong is now open for membership applications. The Chapter will hold several Recruitment days in different locations in the territory.
