speedy deletion criteria edit

hi. i just removed one of your speedy deletion tags (at Bandra Bus Company) because i believe the reason given is not applicable to non-bio articles, and therefore not sufficient to meet the requirements for speedy deletion consideration. for other articles, you have listed reasons for speedy deletion (e.g., "Wikipedia is not a dictionary") which, according to Wikipedia:Deletion_policy are only reasons to "List on Wikipedia:Votes for deletion". i'm not following you around or anything, but noticed this since tonight was the first time i submitted a page for speedy deletion, and was checking out the other candidate pages. if i'm missing an exception to the speedy deletion criteria, please let me know at my talk page. thanks. SaltyPig 09:17, 26 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Yeah I agree with the above. If you have any problems with articles I've created, please feel free to ask me about the its notability or importance. I'll diligently answer all your queries. Thanks and welcome to Wikipedia. =Nichalp «Talk»= 06:52, August 28, 2005 (UTC)

Cameron Wilson edit

Hey, I just edit conflicted with you on the above, seeing as the nn-bio tag is going to get removed as soon as anyone replaces it, I think the best thing to do would be to Vfd this page, and that way it will certainly get seen by an admin and deleted after 5 days, if not speedied under A7 by whichever admin sees it first. Unless you have any objections I'll do it later. PubLife 09:43, 31 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Seven Network edit

Could I please refer to link Seven Network Information regarding the recent dispute over revenue? Apologies if I did wrongly edit the article.

Teratophilia edit

(Copied from User Talk:DESiegel): Hi, I think that your article Teratophilia should be merged into Paraphilia, my reasons outlined on this page's talk page. If you have no objection, I will conduct the move as quickly as possible, as consensus seems to favour the move. If you have a valid reason to keep the abovementioned article, please voice it on the talk page. Thanks, Werdna648T/C\@ 11:59, 7 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

I have responded on the merits at Talk:Teratophilia. A couple of minor points: 1) You refer to this as "your article". I did not create it, I found it when patrolling articles tagged for speedy deletion (tagged by you in this case). I concluded that it was not a valid speedy delete candidate, and removed the speedy tag and did some limited cleanup of the article. 2) It might well not have survived an AfD nomination, which is the proper route for deleting this sort of article (IMO) if you think it will not be usefully expanded. I agree that a merge is a better choice than simple deletion. Creation of an entry at wictionary is probably also a good idea. Please remember that the spedy criteria should be construed narrowly in future. Thanks. DES (talk) 16:50, 7 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
Just in response to your comments, and at this stage largely for the record, I nominated the article because it was two sentences and I therefore concluded that it was practically empty, and therefore fulfilled CSD A1. Werdna648T/C\@ 10:07, 30 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Gabe Cohen edit

On the AFd of Gabe Cohen you misplaced the {{at}} tag. It needs to go above the header with the article title. Just so you know in the future. - Mgm|(talk) 12:46, 1 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

As you can probably tell, I'm not an Admin and have never placed it before, so thanks for the info (as I hope to someday be an admin... got a bit more RC Patrolling left, though). Werdna648T/C\@ 12:57, 1 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Reptiles of India edit

Not to worry. These are stub articles and they were all created offline. I do draw some information from the EMBL online reptile database on a fair use basis and you will see the reference on the pages. Shyamal 09:39, 2 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, just on RC patrol and catching a fair few copyvios. Werdna648T/C\@ 09:40, 2 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Watchlisted edit

According to my watchlist I'm not watching your userpage. How does one find out who is watching a specific page? However it is done it appears to be incorrect though. --Cooksey 13:13, 2 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Actually, my mistake. I was watching my userpage, and the last edit to it was by you, to alphabetise my categories, back in early december. Sorry, I misinterpreted the page. Thanks for the edit ;). Werdna648T/C\@ 23:51, 2 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

The Empty Articles edit

The reason why is I was trying to make a informational area to get facts, ( that will be cited) and pictures, (that are not copyrighted) about each Music Video. I realize I just getting ahead of myself.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Kelvin Martinez (talkcontribs)

Please be aware that empty articles can be deleted under CSD G1. I suggest that you create these articles in Notepad or an equivalent program, and then copy them to Wikipedia when you are ready. Thanks, and Welcome to Wikipedia Werdna648T/C\@ 00:33, 3 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

My RfA edit

Hi,
I just want to say thanks for supporting me on my request for adminship! It passed by a 58/3/0 margin, so I am now an administrator. If you need me to help you out, or you find that I'm doing anything wrong, please don't hesitate to contact me. --Idont Havaname (Talk) 19:57, 6 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Quote edit

I have added a quote of yours to User:Ian13, I thought I better let you know, and just check you don't mind. I am happy to remove it/remove your signature ect. if you so wish. Thanks! Ian13ID:540053 14:47, 7 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

That's fine - I'm flattered that you value my opinion that much! Thanks for letting me know, Werdna648T/C\@ 23:41, 7 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re: Adminship edit

Good questions, and I'm pleased to see your interest in becoming an administrator. I have a list of thoughts on adminship at User:Idont havaname/Admin, though I'll go over a few points from that here. Probably the most important ones on my list are experience (>6 months, >2000 edits is good; I've been here for almost 14 months and over 4300 edits), good understanding of Wikipedia policies, frequent use of edit summaries (that really helps RC patrollers), and at least several hundred edits in WP: pages (though consistent participation in WP: is the main point of this criterion). Staying cool in conflicts is also very important; I, and other voters, aren't likely to support anyone who looks like they will be volatile in any way.

Also, make sure that you haven't been violating WP:3RR or vandalizing pages. I doubt that's a problem with you, but there are some voters who will oppose anyone who's ever done that. Just watching how other RfA's turn out should also give you a good idea of what individual people are looking for.

From a quick glance over your contributions, you're doing pretty well so far and have improved a lot recently. Though, the longer you're here and contributing, the better you can ensure that your RfA will be successful. Happy editing!

Lebanon edit

Just saw an edit in your contributions where you said Lebanon was in Africa. It's actually in the Middle East (see Lebanon), which is considered Southwest Asia. --Idont Havaname (Talk) 19:59, 8 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

User:Starship_commander edit

I noticed you (rightfully) added a VfD to a page Starship_commander created, Global_Reform_Party is there any reason that it shouldnt be a speedy delete? -Ravedave 05:29, 18 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Good Idea. I haven't done newpage patrol in a while. I'm not sure that it's strictly a club, as it doesn't exist, but surely it'll fit in somewhere. Werdna648T/C\@ 05:31, 18 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fem2fem edit

Do you think maybe you could let people have a few minutes to finish editing an article before hanging a speedy delete on 'em? Endomion 06:29, 18 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Editing finishes when you hit the "Save page" button. Please ensure that all biographical articles you create include a claim to notability, or they will be speedy deleted. Werdna648T/C\@ 07:01, 18 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Dr. Sam Higgenbottom edit

Thanks for catching my mistake on the article Dr. Sam Higgenbottom. I should have checked that for a copyvio, not immediately stuck a db-nonsense on it. Anabanana459 03:35, 19 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Esperanza! edit

Welcome, Werdna648/Archive/Archive 01, to Esperanza, the Wikipedia member association! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is the StressUnit, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. Redwolf24 runs the spam to keep members up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Possibles.

I encourage you to take an active voice in the running of Esperanza. We have a small government system, headed by our Administrator general, Celestianpower, and guided by the Advisory Committee comprised of FireFox, Flcelloguy, Titoxd, and Karmafist. The next set of elections will be in February, and I would be glad to see you vote, or even consider running for a position.

If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Celestianpower by email or talk page or the Esperanza talk page. Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!

Hello ,thanks for opening my eyes.I am such a loser,I dont even know what a admin does and i have nominated myself.from now on,i will leave edit summaries.I am barely two months old in wiki and i was audacious enough to ask for adminship.Sorry for wasting your time.--Jayanthv86 15:23, 21 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your user warning templates edit

I just tried the attack warning template, and found that it places the talk page into the Category:User warning templates. I have tried to amend this on Template:Resume and Template:Attackpg-warn (and included a HTML comment as these templates are likely to be subst'ed,a dn I like being able to find out which template produces a message). I like having extra templates to warn users for specific speedy criteria. Good idea, even if the templates might still need a little polishing. Happy editing, Kusma (討論) 06:21, 22 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for letting me know, I'll try to remember this in future. I verified that your changes have fixed the issue. Werdna648T/C\@ 06:46, 22 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sam Sloan edit

Thanks for the comments on my talk page about that. I actually had replied to User:Sam Sloan on his talk page and things calmed down a little after that. Sloan and Brock have had this long-running feud in the chess world which spilled over onto Wikipedia and Brock did a stupid edit to the Sam Sloan article where he added Category:Pedophiles to it, which didn't help things. Now Brock seems to be the level-headed one and I believe even filed a request for mediation, which Sloan basically rejected. I don't know if he's continuing his edit wars (he inserts a lot of POV/unverifiable content) but I told Brock to argue him on policy and he'd pretty much win every time. Anyway, that's the story that I know; I haven't been involved with that for a few weeks now, thank goodness. (: howcheng {chat} 07:47, 22 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sam Higginbottom edit

I actually sent it to WP:CP on January 18th myself (see this edit), so you'll probably want to revert your edit. FYI when I remove speedy tags I usually take some action along with it (e.g., forward it to AfD, log it on CP, etc) -- I never just de-tag it and leave it. However, I'll endeavour to notify the original tagger when I do so in the future. Regards, howcheng {chat} 07:51, 22 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please accept my embarrassingly belated thank you for supporting my RfA, which much to my surprise passed 102/1/1, earning me minor notoriety. You user page edit

Hi there! I just wanted to let you know that you're the next one in my backlog for a new design for your user page. Boy, that sure is a lot of userboxes! Unless you want me to do something different, I'll try and keep them all. As usual, please just give me a day before submitting the final design to you. Sounds good to you, my dear Aussie? =) Kisses, Phædriel tell me - 22:21, 24 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

I don't mind if you keep them or not. The idea of having them there was to fill up space. Feel free to use and abuse my userpage to your heart's content, and make it look halfway decent. I don't mind if you link to my userboxes off the main userpage or WHAT happens. Thanks, Werdna648T/C\@ 23:11, 24 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
