XKCD removal edit

I have noticed a lot of xkcd-cruft on Wikipedia. Fans are very fond of adding references to the comic in articles where the subject matter is referenced. I am being very lenient in what I remove, so please try not to feel victimised if you're a defender of these references. WeDon'tWantAny (talk) 18:04, 4 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

I agree that this stuff needs to go. Some people see a reference to X in their favourite comic and immediately decide that this is important to X as a topic, so add it to Wikipedia. They are bums. 86.153.8.118 (talk) 22:40, 4 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
People that make bad faith character assassinations of other editors are in violation of WP:CIVIL. If this is repeated I will act to get the people engaging in this blocked from editing the wikipedia. People are expected to behave in a collegial fashion here.- Wolfkeeper 16:55, 6 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
Boo hoo, why not cry some more and quote some more policies you don't follow yourself. 86.153.8.118 (talk) 00:31, 8 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Single-purpose account? edit

It's not clear why you've showed up with the purpose of removing links to xkcd comics, but it should be noted that each article that links one generally has a community of editors and that in wikipedia decisions are made by community. If you're a WP:SPA with no evidence of being part of that community, going about removing things, you're being disruptive. I'll review some of the removals, and put some back, and help to moderate this behavior of yours if it continues. Dicklyon (talk) 17:55, 6 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

If you're already deep-rooted in my contributions you should have noticed my explanations. I am absolutely dismayed and discouraged that I have had three unprovoked attacks-via-"policy" from three people who voted "Keep" to my "Remove", in a very short space of time. I don't have the time or energy to fight against cabal, so please go ahead and do whatever you like. I'm sure there's a good reason why you stating that you're going to go back and concentrate on my changes is any different from what I did in the first place. Invitation edit

Any editor that is interested in external links is invited to watchlist the External links noticeboard. Even if you don't choose to express an opinion, I have found that seeing the requests and the responses to be informative. WhatamIdoing (talk) 03:08, 9 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
