I'm confused when you say that licenses that prohibit commercial use are not open source. The intent of the original sentences was that ISVs couldn't sell, for a profit, software that was based on open source code. This is clearly the intent, if not the wording, of the GPL license. I don't know what proportion of open source code is under GPL, but I'd suspect it's close to a majority.

Did I misunderstand something? Please email me -- david at taberconsulting dot com -- as I want to fix the wording and the logic here.
