License tagging for Image:Ontario Hydro.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Ontario Hydro.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 03:05, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

All these letter images edit

What is the purpose of uploading all these scanned letters? You can't possebly intend to include them all in an article, so please be mindfull that Wikipedia is not a free file hosting service, nor a repository of images, what is your plan for these images? --Sherool (talk) 16:56, 23 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Possibly unfree images edit

I have listed the images Image:Ontario Hydro.jpg, Image:Wax Oil Spill Cleanup - Page 01.jpg, Image:Wax Oil Spill Cleanup - Page 02.jpg, Image:Wax Oil Spill Cleanup - Page 03.jpg, Image:Wax Oil Spill Cleanup - Page 04.jpg, Image:Wax Oil Spill Cleanup - Page 05.jpg, Image:Wax Oil Spill Cleanup - Page 06.jpg, Image:Wax Oil Spill Cleanup - Page 07.jpg, Image:Wax Oil Spill Cleanup - Page 08.jpg, Image:Wax Oil Spill Cleanup - Page 09.jpg, Image:Wax Oil Spill Cleanup - Page 10.jpg, Image:Wax Oil Spill Cleanup - Page 11.jpg, Image:Wax Oil Spill Cleanup - Page m17.jpg, Image:Confermation letter Bob Ray 1994.jpg and Image:Agenda for school demo.jpg, which you have uploaded, for deletion as possibly unfree images. Since these are scans of letters written by others, it does not seem likely that you would have the authority to release these images under a free license as you have claimed. If you believe you in fact do own the copyright to these letters, or have received permission from their authors to release them under a free license, please note this fact under the relevant entry at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images#October 28. —Ilmari Karonen (talk) 17:56, 28 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
