May 2009

Hello, welcome to Wikipedia. Being a new user, you might want to familiarize yourself with Wikipedia before joining a project. Unfortunately, I have not familiarized myself with the wikiprojects rejoin, therefore I cannnot help you. If you need help, make a new section titled == Help == and type {{helpme}} plus your questions at the bottom of the page. Your question should be answered soon.

Pekayer11 (talk) 16:24, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

P.S. Type:{{user:pekayer11/montaugeboy}} on your page to receive hillarious user boxes.

Wikiprojects

Hmmm..WaveRunner85, what wikiproject do you want to join. There's a lot, like WikiProject James Bond and Wikiproject Video Games. Tell me what what's your hobby or what you're interested in and I can hopefully find a suitable wikiproject for you. Class I Laser ZAP! Boom! 16:29, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Section Headings

WaveRunner85, please make a new section every time you type a new comment on someone's talk page by hitting the "new section" button or scrolling to the bottom of the page, typing two "=", your title, followed by two "=" to close it out. Then, type your message below it. If you need any help, just post a comment with a section heading on my talk page. Cheers! Class I Laser ZAP! Boom! 16:38, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Userboxes

Go to Wikipedia:Userboxes, scroll to the bottom of the page to the USERBOX GALLERY. Then, select the section you want a userbox from and click on it. Then you should be brought to a page with a lot of userboxes. Copy the template, which is surrounded by two squiggly brackets. Then, paste the code on your userpage. PLEASE REMEMBER TO USE SECTION HEADINGS. I'm getting really tired of correcting your posts. Class I Laser ZAP! Boom! 16:45, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Wikiprojects

You're going to be interesting in Wikipedia:WikiProject Chess and Wikipedia:WikiProject Tennis. Just click on the link and read the information on the page. Class I Laser ZAP! Boom! 16:49, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Wikimood

Go to this page to edit your wikimood. You need to edit:WM|mood=05|size=240px and change your mood in a numerical form, between -10 to 10. Good luck! Class I Laser ZAP! Boom! 16:54, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Monobook

Type: importScript('User:TheDJ/qui.js'); in your monobook.js so that you will have a small dot in the top right corner next to the "log out" link. This will keep track of your status like "offline" or "online". Then put {{Statustop|link=User:WaveRunner85/Status|offset=50}} to the top of your user and user talk page. See Wikipedia:Qui for details and questions. If you need help, just ask me on my talk page. Class I Laser ZAP! Boom! 17:07, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Monobook.js

Click here to access your monobook.js. Then, click edit when you are on your monobook.js and add this to it exactally as written. importScript('User:TheDJ/qui.js');. Then, click save. Once it has been saved, refresh the page using the refresh button or the appropriate shortcut. If you need help, just ask. Class I Laser ZAP! Boom! 20:39, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Your monobook

I cannot edit your monobook.js, you are the only one who can. Remember to sign your posts with four tildes. Thanks, and I'll try to fix your userboxes. Class I Laser ZAP! Boom! 21:01, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Userboxes

Done I fixed your userboxes to your specifications. Class I Laser ZAP! Boom! 21:08, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Qui (finally)

You finally got Qui! Wow! Class I Laser ZAP! Boom! 21:18, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Qui and your userboxes

  •   Done I have centered your userboxes on your page.
  • To add someone else to your friend's list for Qui, first, visit their user or user talk page. Then, click "Add________" in the Qui menu which is located once you mouse over the bubble. Once you click "Add_______", don't move your mouse or click, or type anything until their user/talk page loads again as Qui is automated! Then, click "Show Qui Friends" and they should be there with a colored bubble. Black=offline, blue=busy, red=sleeping, and green=online. If the bubble is whitish, that means that that user dosn't have Qui. Hope this helps! Class I Laser ZAP! Boom! 23:43, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Sub Pages

DoneI created your subpages that GandalftheWise didn't create for your or ones that you didn't create (or forgot to create).Class I Laser ZAP! Boom! 21:04, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

Adoption

I could adopt you. Then, I can teach you more about Wikipedia. Check out Wikipedia:ADOPT. Class I Laser ZAP! Boom! 21:46, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

Templates

I have added the appropriate adopting templates on our userpages. If you have any questions, just ask me. However, I, myself don't know the answer to your Qui question. You should ask TheDJ as he designed Qui. Class I Laser ZAP! Boom! 21:57, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

ADOPT

I will adopt you, don't let Class I Laser do it.

GandalftheWise : Talk Page 22:12, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

Your question and Lupin

  • The template I added to your userpage (if you check it out) tells users that you have been adopted by me. I have one similar to it on my userpage, too.
  • Here is the code to Lupin's anti-vandal tool. You need to add this as I cannot, only administrators can. Add: importScript('User:Lupin/recent2.js'); to your monobook.js just like you added Qui. Refresh the page. Underneath the "search" and "interaction" section the left, there should a section called "toolbox" You should see three things at the bottom, "Filter Recent Changes", "All Recent Changes","Recent IP edits", "Monitor my watchlist", and "live spellcheck".
  • To fight vandalism:You should click on "Recent IP edits". Then, a orange box should appear after a couple seconds. Click "Toggle these details" which should open every single difference. You can see what's added or deleted. The added stuff is in red. If there are any inappropriate words, click the "hist" button, which will show the history. Then click "Compare Selected Versions" If you see any vandalism, click the undo button. Then you should give the person a warning. Go to WP:WARNFor Example: X vandalized a page. You should click their "talk" button which will link to their talk page. If they haven't vandalized this month put:

==May 2009== {{subst:uw-vandalism1}}

If they have vandalized, give the next level warning. To report a user after the last warning, go to WP:AIV and follow instructions there. If you need help, just ask and I will break this down for you. I know that this is a lot. Glad to adopt you!Class I Laser ZAP! Boom! 23:46, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

STOP!

Listen, Class I Laser is doing exactly what I told you about in school. Class I Laser said that "He fulfills the requirements to adopt you, but I do just as much as he does. In the first place, I showed you Wikipedia and started you off. He thinks that he can just come in and take over. Will you just stop it? Thanks. GandalftheWise : Talk Page 23:12, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Obviously, WaveRunner85 has the power to choose who to be his/her adopter, you can't force him/her to. Do you understand GandalftheWise? Class I Laser ZAP! Boom! 23:15, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Your "80" edits

You misunderstood Pekayer11. Having 80 edits doesn't mean that you'll have rollback rights. You need to have around 80 edits which are vandalism related, it means that you need to revert vandalism around 80 times. Of course, you just need to have experience fighting vandalism. Your comment

I doubt that I can code the page for you. It's really hard and it took me about an hour to do it and I messed up a lot. In the meantime, you should start reverting vandalism or improving articles. 89% of your edits are in user and user talk namespaces. Being a user on Wikipedia is about improving the encyclopedia, not editing user and talk pages.-- Wireless Keyboard Click! Clack! 00:25, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Rollback

Hi WaveRunner. You currently have less than a hundred live edits and of those over 80 are to user space or user talk. To get rollback you need to demonstrate an understanding of reverting poor edits - for example using WP:UNDO or manual reversion of vandalism. When you've got some experience of that please ask again. Pedro :  Chat  13:56, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Hello. Saw your request on Pedro's talk. There are still many articles that need improvement, or even creation. You might want to start with content building. Try Wikipedia:Cleanup. Cheers, Dlohcierekim 17:37, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Rollback Rights

Hello. You seem to be wanting Rollback Rights... here is the link: Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Rollback. I would wait until you have about 80 edits before applying... and if you get rejected the first time go back to editing with the undo button... wait a week... then apply again.

Pekayer11 (talk) 20:52, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Please Revert Vandalism More

It has become apparent that, although you have made 140 edits to Wikipedia, only 26 (18.57%) have been reverting vandalism. 108 have been made to your User Page or User Talk Page. That is 77.14% of your edits. Please either revert vandalism or edit Wikipedia Articles before continuing to edit to your User and Talk Page. Thank You. Pekayer11 (talk) 21:45, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

Your rollback rights

I have approached a bureaucrat, Bibliomaniac15, for your rollback permissions. In the meantime, why don't you FIGHT MORE VANDALISM!!! Cheers! --Wireless Keyboard Click! Clack! 00:49, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

Edit Counts

You have 50 to article namespaces. Yet, you have more than 100 to your User Talk Page. I would highly suggest going here or here to gather article namespace edits. For both of those links please revert vandalism but if you would like to improve Wikipedia click here and try to edit it. (It is a random article.)

Pekayer11 (talk) 01:28, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

It's a good idea to mind your own business rather then bothering WaveRunner85's. Giving people advice can and is annoying. Please stop. --Wireless Keyboard Click! Clack! 18:39, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

rollback

As I and others have pointed out, you need more experience. I for one would like to see more article building/creation/expansion. There are plenty of notable subjects lacking articles. There are many existing articles that require better sourcing. Dlohcierekim 14:46, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

Sure, but how does rollback factor in with "existing articles that require better sourcing." Rollback is defined as a "fast method of undoing blatantly unproductive edits." --Wireless Keyboard Click! Clack! 18:35, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
You need more experience building the Encyclopedia before I will trust you with rollback. You need more experience making constructive edits before reverting the edits of others with a tool that omits edit summaries. You need more experience reverting without rollback before I will trust you with a tool that omits edits summaries. I manually reverted for thousands of edits before I got automated tools to do it. I never got rollback till I became an admin. Cheers, Dlohcierekim 01:31, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
