Your style of writing looks like something from a book (you're a good writer!), not as much an encyclopedia text. Frankly, when someone adds a big piece of text without any links or other formatting, as you did, it's usually a copyright violation. One thing that would be appreciated would be if you'd source your text better: it would be much more helpful if you would cite your sources more precisely, putting in page numbers for various incidents in the city's history.
