From the Editor

Help is needed for the job of putting future Newsletters together. The present incumbent is finding it difficult to reflect the breadth of the Project, focusing on much the same individuals and articles each month, and has decided to beg for contributions from other individuals. Interested persons need only start working on next months issue to qualify. It really is that simple!

If you've just joined, add your name to the Participants section of Wikipedia:WikiProject Microsoft. You'll get a mention in the next issue of the Newsletter and get it delivered as desired. Also, please include your own promotions and awards in future issues. Don't be shy!

Lastly, this is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the next issue. Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned, or just start editing!

Just add your response below each question and feel free to skip any questions that you don't feel comfortable answering. Whack!

You've been whacked with a wet trout.

Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly.

Hi.

Please look carefully at what you change.

Now, this is supposed to be friendly message, but I am obliged to warn that if continuous changes without a reliable source continue, I might have to request a lock down on the page.

Best regards,

Hi Wanscr. To echo what Codename Lisa wrote above, you have to cite a reliable source when adding a significant amount of new information. In addition, Wikipedia articles typically do not contain sentences written in the first person (i.e. "We fixed..."). Who is "we?" So many different people edit Wikipedia that is impossible for the reader to understand who "we" refers to, hence the first person should not be used when writing articles. Altamel (talk) 18:51, 19 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hey! I have removed the "we fixed" now from previous posts also - that's how Microsoft posts it in their blog - but as you rightly say not adequate for Wikipedia plus I cited the appropriate reference for the posted information

kind regards,
wanscr
