December 2020 edit

No one is bullying you. But you are evading the block of your IP address. We've tried to help you but either you aren't giving us all the information or you are just trolling us. Your IP was not blocked before December 9th. 331dot (talk) 12:15, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

What do you get out of these childish games?Walther Faunus (talk)
So the person who is swearing at and making personal attacks against the very people they want to unblock them is saying I'm playing a childish game. I want to help you and have tried to do nothing else. I'm not playing games here but you have to meet us halfway. You were not blocked before December 9th according to your IP address log(not according to me). That is an indisputable fact and if you are still affected by a block there is some piece of information you are not giving us, perhaps unknowingly. It doesn't take 10 years to "apply" for an account because accounts are not applied for, they are created by the users themselves(unless they need to request an account, but it still is not an application process). You also say you have accounts on other versions of Wikipedia. Those should work here. There is no reason that you should be prevented from editing based on this information. Do you really think I would say that if it weren't true? I don't know who you are so why would I lie about that? 331dot (talk) 16:51, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
A person cannot create an account on here. Only admins can do that. And you cannot use other wiki accounts on the English wiki. Also, why did the admin finally, finally approve my account, only accuse my of being a "sock puppet" for having a banned IP? Wikipdia literally tells you that if your IP is banned, request an account! So I have been banned, for following the rules? This is something that exists only on English wikipedia.

You want to unblock me? If that is true, then why do you not only keep denying my unblock request, but then lie and say I am not blocked? I have been blocked for 10 years. I have applied for an account countless times, and the admins always deny me. Usually with some offensive and inappropriate comments. The contributions I make are in very specific areas that are generally not disputed. I have never been in an "edit war" with anyone. So I do not know what the purpose is to a decade ban.

Are you being serious here? I have screen shots of my bans and and account denials dating back to... 2008. August. So over 12 years now. I finally get approved and then banned again in less than 24 hours! Why is English wikipedia such a joke? "You want an account? (Redacted)" How can anyone take this place seriously? And you dare deride me for "personal attacks"? Why is it the modus operandi of the mods to use personal attacks? But if we defend ourselves, WE are the bad ones? Have none of you left your basements? In the real world, when you act like this, you get a fist in your face. So if one generally acts civil to avoid this in real life, why do you think it is OK to act like this on the internet? You think your anonymity keeps you safe from a beating? Well one day, you will have to step outside for something and face the real world. Walther Faunus (talk) 05:20, 12 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

It's... not okay? Unfortunately your little rant has cost you your talk page access. Primefac (talk) 12:58, 12 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Okay, so I had a think about it, and I think blocking you for your rather inappropriate comment was a little extreme. Let's try and talk this out - I have no idea who you are, I didn't block you, and I'd like to figure out what happened. From my reading of the situation, you made a post that implied you clearly were familiar with Wikipedia, despite having no prior edits. 331dot says that your IP was blocked and you are evading. So let's get to the crux of it.
You say that you've been "attempting to get an account" since '08. What sort of rejection/decline notices were you receiving? I find it very hard to believe that someone with access to Wikipedia (i.e. not prevented from even visiting the site like in China) would not be able to create an account unless they were caught up in some sort of previously-existing IP block. If you've been under that type of block for this long, you either have the worst luck in the world or you're just wasting my time trying to sort this all out (and 331dot is right and you're just messing with us). So, in the interest of good faith (and to show that not all admins are bullies) I've restored your talk page access and would like to open up a dialogue. If you do have screenshots etc of your attempts from the past, you are welcome to send them to me via email. As an Oversighter I will not reveal their contents unless absolutely necessary, and only then to other OSers for second opinions. Primefac (talk) 13:30, 12 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
I would add that if you have an account that works on another language version of Wikipedia(the German Wikipedia, French, etc.) you should be able to use it here. Accounts were made global across all Wikimedia Foundation projects several years ago, any account will work on any version. See WP:SUL. If somehow that's not the case for you, we all want to figure out why so you can participate. 331dot (talk) 13:58, 12 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
