Hello and congratulations on creating a new account. I will give you some advice to avoid you getting on a bad track and to prevent you from repeating the mistakes that you made earlier.

I will be very busy starting on February 27 and will edit less until...you know...June or sometime in the early summer...so if you need any help, take a look at the help desk, or don't hesitate to ask a member of the Wikipedia community.

Your first edits were as Walter55000 (talk · contribs). When that was blocked you attempted to edit as 72.161.12.108 (talk). The block expired but you had locked yourself out of Walter 55000 - I assume that you had failed to specify an e-mail address and were unaware of how the change password mechanism works. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 17:16, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Adoption?

Hi Walter, I saw your conversation on RHaworth's page and it looks like you've been having trouble. Would you be interested in lessons about how to edit on Wikipedia? There are some experienced editors who adopt new users and give them lessons and advice. If you are interested, I can help connect you to someone. Cloveapple (talk) 18:17, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

well im already filled up with help from rhaworth, bmusician and aussielenged but you can help.--Walter55024 (talk) 18:20, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
I'll take that to mean that you are not interested in formal lessons or adoption. Good luck with your future editing. Cloveapple (talk) 18:43, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

no i mean that you can help with other editors--Walter55024 (talk) 18:46, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure I understand your reply. The only offer I made was to connect you to somebody who would offer one-on-one lessons. Personally I expect you to get blocked eventually unless you work with somebody one-on-one who is willing to explain Wikipedia to you slowly and carefully. So all I am asking is if you want lessons or not. If you want lessons I will ask several people who are good at "adopting" new users that are having trouble and see if they will adopt you. If you don't want lessons I don't have other help to offer right now. Cloveapple (talk) 19:08, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

sure just make sure its not over video chat.--Walter55024 (talk) 19:12, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

I saw your reply below to RHaworth, so I understand you are saying yes. I'm going to go check with a couple people that might be a good match for you. It might take me a day or two to leave messages and get replies. Cloveapple (talk) 19:24, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism part 2

Thread brought over from user talk:RHaworth

i made walter55024.--Walter55024 (talk) 14:30, 26 February 2012 (UTC) will someone reply?--Walter55024 (talk) 16:48, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • Thank you for telling us your new name. Indications so far are not at all promising: you have created two AfC submissions which do not even attempt to assert the notability of their subjects. Your addition to Toy Story 3 will continue to be reverted until you provide good, independent supporting evidence. Personally I will give you a week to prove that you have turned around but do not be surprised if another admin blocks you sooner. As to taking out vandalism, what advice do you want? Just watch new pages and recent changes and you will see plenty to keep you busy. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 17:10, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

anyway the afc was to get messages and help also can you put a link for a vandalism page?--Walter55024 (talk) 17:29, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • Did you actually see my links to new pages and recent changes above? The whole point about fighting vandalism is that we need more people to find it. If I see vandalism, I fix it on the spot. I don't pass it on to someone else to fix. An higher proportion of vandalism comes from IP addresses. Here are some examples (all now fixed): unsourced additions: this and this; pure vandalism: this. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 17:42, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

well the only fighting vandalism that i know is the 3rr rule.--Walter55024 (talk) 17:56, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • I don't really count 3rr violations as vandalism - they are content disputes and there is usually reasonable good faith on both sides. Another suggestion for fighting real vandalism is that you should build up a watch list of articles that interest you, eg. Phineas and Ferb. Indeed, if you look at the edit history of that article you will see some good examples of vandalism. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:09, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

can we continue this discuccn on my talk page?--Walter55024 (talk) 18:11, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • By all means but I do not undertake to respond as quickly. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:13, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

well just check my talk page a lot plus this thing is filling up your talk page so lets close this thing on your talk page and open it so i will just say that this is closed.--Walter55024 (talk) 18:16, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

will you reply on my talk page--Walter55024 (talk) 18:34, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • OK, it is now open here. What do you want to say? I suggest that you do take up Cloveapple's offer enthusiastically. Can you really trust help from a sarcastic old bugger who has expressed his intention to block you for a year? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:49, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

well you can still help and i took up her offer you just misunderstood.plus your not mean your actalliy nice thats why i gave you that barnstar.--Walter55024 (talk) 18:51, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • You have just slapped your version of the {{talkback}} tag on my talk page but I see nothing that requires my comment. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 19:34, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

why dont we move the future part of the thing back to your talk page.--Walter55024 (talk) 19:41, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • I wish you would actually start doing some useful edits. I don't know what you mean by "the future part" but move stuff if you must. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:23, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

well do you know what page could be used for useful edits. -- Walter55024 (talk) 20:28, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • I find your question very depressing. If you cannot think of topics that interest you, then I suggest you leave Wikipedia. I have pointed you to vandalism monitoring via new pages, recent changes and your watchlist. What are you interested in? Are all the relevant articles perfect? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:41, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

well i might think about deleteing vandalism afc submissions and if i see vandalism and 3rr revert rule all that is left is how to delete and how to block.--Walter55024 (talk) 20:50, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • Deletion is done by admins. But you can do a lot of useful work applying {{db}} tags. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:17, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

what about blocking? --Walter55024 (talk) 22:18, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Toy Story 3, please cite a reliable source for your addition. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Please do not add unsourced speculation to Wikipedia articles -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 22:30, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

you know the stuff on toy story 3 squeal and the other its reliable.--Walter55024 (talk) 22:36, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, but I have no idea what that means. You added speculative material with no source. (And I'm watching this page, so no need for a notification) -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 22:39, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

the stuff that you reverted on toy story 3 is reliable info.--Walter55024 (talk) 22:48, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

We cannot simply take your word for it, and you must not add it again without a reliable source - please read WP:CITE and WP:RS to learn about Wikipedia's sourcing policy -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 22:51, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

i know its reliable because its already happened.--Walter55024 (talk) 22:53, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

I don't care what you claim to know - without a source it does not go in! I also see you have already been warned by RHaworth about this too. You are treading very dangerously here, and you will be blocked from editing if you do not stop your disruptive behaviour. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 22:55, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Just to spell that out for you in big writing: you must find a page on the web which we consider a reliable source and which confirms your story about a prequel and sequel. When you add your story you must include a link to that reliable source page. Until you do that, your addition will continue to be reverted. Do you understand? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:16, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

yes its just i don't know how to do it.--Walter55024 (talk) 23:18, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Just wait before you edit again. I am finding somebody to give you a step-by-step walk through of how to edit. So for now just wait and don't edit. Cloveapple (talk) 01:05, 27 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

No. I'm fine with it staying here right now. I'm still waiting for a reply from somebody about adopting you. Once they log on again and reply, they might want to move the conversation, but for now it's fine here. Cloveapple (talk) 01:29, 27 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

its because it filling up my talk page plus i'll think that the adopter is logging in in the morning.--Walter55024 (talk) 01:32, 27 February 2012 (UTC) also tell the adopter if he wants to move this.--Walter55024 (talk) 01:34, 27 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi. This discussion is about you and your editing, so this is the appropriate place for it, not somebody else's Talk page. Once a discussion gets old, it can either be removed or archived (that's something for you to learn about later), so there's no need to worry about your Talk page getting full. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 04:32, 27 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi there Walter, good to meet you! I've just had a message from Cloveapple, asking me to wander over here. I say "just", I mean yesterday, but I'm not really on during the weekends. You know what that means? It means someone thinks you might do well in an adoption scheme - that's great! It's a show of confidence, that you have something to add to the encyclopedia, but there's just so much to learn and we don't want to lose you in the process.

I should tell you a little about me. I've been on Wikipedia for a few years, I'm an administrator and I specialise in talking to people, trying to find solutions. That makes me great at adoption if I do say so myself! and so I've adopted more people than anyone else on Wikipedia has.

So how do you fancy joining in my adoption scheme? You'll learn the ins and outs of wikipedia, how to cope behind the scenes and hopefully find something you're interested in doing here. You'll even get a few barnstars out of it - and they're hard to come by! Let me know what you think, I'll be watching   WormTT · (talk) 09:50, 27 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • Hi Walter. Just an endorsement from me - I know Worm and he's a terrific mentor, especially with younger people. Taking up his offer would be a great way for you to develop as an editor, and should hopefully lead to many years of valuable contributions from you (and give you fun on the way) -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 12:32, 27 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

sure so what should i learn first.--72.161.12.108 (talk) 12:34, 27 February 2012 (UTC) sorry i was logged out i just logged in also would you like to move this disccuion to your talk page?--Walter55024 (talk) 12:37, 27 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

(edit conflict)Was just going to ask you to log in! If you're happy to be adopted by me, I'll set up an adoption centre for you, with a talk page which you can chat about anything you like on. WormTT · (talk) 12:39, 27 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Just a note - you shouldn't really edit this page without being logged in, as people won't know the IP address is you and it could look like someone else changing things inappropriately (just as I did - I reverted the edit from the IP before I realised it was you). And some people might see it as misuse of different accounts.

Also, I suggest you might be better leaving section headings in, as it makes it easier for people to edit the page. And it would make archiving of old comments easier, as there is an automatic archive process that does whole sections at a time, which won't work if you keep taking the section headings out - you can learn about that in due course -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 12:38, 27 February 2012 (UTC) well i can edit this talk page espclly if its mine and it is so it will be edited back.--Walter55024 (talk) 12:41, 27 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hey dude, I was just making a suggestion that should make it easier for you in the future - but I'm sure Worm will cover such things, so I'll leave you in his capable hands -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 12:54, 27 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
It's not actually "yours", but I'll explain all this in the first few lessons :) WormTT · (talk) 12:43, 27 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

So am I! We allow editors considerable control over their user and user talk pages, but you certainly don't "own" it, and if your control goes outside community norms, it can be revoked. Anyway, are you willing to go through the extremely tough and soul destroying "Worm That Turned Adoption Course"? I must warn you, people have had a melt down over lessons in the past! Certainly. You now have your own adoption page! It's available for you here - User:Worm That Turned/Adopt/Walter55024. How talk pages work

Please don't erase old messages on my talk page. I keep them all as a record. Then I file the old talk messages in my archives. (An archive just means a place for storing records.) Lots of people archive their talk pages and keep all the old messages. It's no big deal this once, just please don't do it again.

If you want to start a brand new discussion on any talk page the place to put it is at the very bottom of the page where new discussions go. If you want to add more comments to a discussion that has already started, just put your new comments at the bottom of the conversation you want to add to without erasing the old comments. Cloveapple (talk) 22:29, 27 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

that just seemed useless sorry i did not know.--Walter55024 (talk) 22:31, 27 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
It's OK. Wikipedia can be silly and complicated some times. You'll get the hang of it.   Cloveapple (talk) 08:07, 28 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

So where is it?

You have just slapped your version of the {{talkback}} tag on my talk page again but I see nothing that requires my comment. I will simply ignore any future message unless I see a request for comment. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:40, 27 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Likewise. I don't wish to participate but you put the message back on my talk page. --- Wikiklrsc (talk) 23:51, 28 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Also see User talk:RHaworth#Spamming?. Kindly explain to Wikiklrsc (talk · contribs), either here, on my user talk page or his, how you found Wikiklrsc and why you think he might be interested in the page to which you pointed. Please read WP:OWN - to describe it as "my discussion" would be a bit out of order. And to describe it as "my disscion" indicates that you need to use a spell checker! — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 00:36, 29 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

blocked

I have blocked you briefly - but you can still edit this page and I hope you will do so to explain your actions. I see you have been soliciting several people to join "your" page - including a bot! (Find out what a bot is and explain to me why it is inappropriate to leave them such a message.) Such actions are pointless. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 00:41, 29 February 2012 (UTC) you know how i found you.i went to jayron32s talk page and then i went to skier dudes talk page then i reached his talk page.--Walter55024 (talk) 02:15, 29 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Indefinitely blocked from Wikipedia

Walter, I'm afraid that Wikipedia is not the right place for you and as such I am summarily blocking you indefinitely from the encyclopedia. I will explain the reasons for this now. You've been editing here since 11 February 2012 as User:Walter55000, User:Walter55024 and an IP address and made a total of less than 500 edits.

  • Of the 18 days you have been here, you've spent 10 blocked, for being generally unproductive and edit warring.[1] You also evaded a previous block, using the IP address[2]
  • I have attempted to adopt you, but to date you have not learned anything from the first lesson. You do not understand the encyclopedia at a fundamental level - believing that you should add false information to prove you are friends with someone - confirmed
  • You have spammed a number of editors who you have never interacted with, asking them to "just talk to other people" at your adoption page - including 1 after being blocked for spamming, notice, spamming again
  • You have currently made no productive edits to any articles and it is debateable whether you have made any productive edits anywhere. I do not believe you would be able to make any productive edits without direct supervision.
  • The final straw was confirming that your parents do not approve of you editing at wikipedia and that you are editing without their knowledge.

Given all the above, I am indefinitely blocking you from wikipedia. It is worth noting that you are a very young editor and that when you are older you may well return as a great editor. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest this block by replying here on your talk page by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}}. You may also email the blocking administrator or any administrator from this list instead, or mail unblock-en-l lists.wikimedia.org. WormTT · (talk) 14:29, 29 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • I thoroughly endorse the Worm's block and the message above. A good test of when you are ready to return will be when you find yourself embarrassed by the replies you gave at User:Worm That Turned/Adopt/Walter55024 and feel you can give decent replies. But as I have already hinted, I suggest you wait at least twelve months before you do anything of that sort. (You noted my conversation on the Worm's talk page so you already have a specimen answer to Q4 - but don't copy it!) Remember we know your IP address and your editing habits are highly distinctive so avoiding the block would be difficult. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:55, 29 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

request for an unblock

can you please unblock me?--Walter55024 (talk) 21:47, 29 February 2012 (UTC) {unblocklyour reason here}--Walter55024 (talk) 22:03, 29 February 2012 (UTC) i am really sorry for what happened please unblock me.--Walter55024 (talk) 22:09, 29 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

No, sorry. You are not blocked because of any behavior you can change, you are blocked because you simply are not mature enough yet to understand what Wikipedia is all about - that really was pretty clear from your attempts at the mentorship questions, amongst other things. So, obey your parents, go enjoy all the things someone your age should be enjoying, and maybe come back here some day when you're older and more mature. In fact, as there is zero chance of anyone unblocking you at this time, I'm going to revoke your Talk page access here. (You can follow one of the alternative unblock request methods outlined above sometime in the future - I'd suggest not for at least a year) -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 23:01, 29 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Some more advice

Hi Walter. As you have found out, Wikipedia is not designed for meeting new friends and chatting to people and having fun.

Here are some internet sites that are designed for meeting new friends, chatting to people and having fun, that also happen to have either no minimum age or very low minimum ages, if you have parental permission, so you may wish to ask a parent to look them over for you;

Those three also have quite strong safety measures designed with younger children in mind - Wikipedia does not have the same sort of safety measures.

Someone else about your age who left Wikipedia because it wasn't fun enough, made a wiki here that also mentions Club Penguin sometimes; maybe you should edit that a bit if your dad agrees.

And the last piece of advice on appealing your block

Two administrators have suggested above that you wait at least one year before appealing your block. This is good advice, and I think the only way you are likely to be unblocked before that is in the unlikely event that you persuade your dad that it is appropriate for you to edit Wikipedia, and he tells us in his own words that he agrees for you to do so and that he will be involved in the direct supervision that Worm has suggested is necessary. When making that decision, he may find Wikipedia:Guidance for younger editors useful.

That's it from me; this talk page is not for continuing discussion of your block or other things, so for further discussion you should use email. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 20:37, 3 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Makes me really sad...

Walter, your account has been blocked from editing; you cannot evade the block. you, the person, are blocked, and so you are prohibited, whether from a registered account or an IP address, from editing.

You've made me really sad. Admins have went as far as range-blocking your IP addresses for two weeks. I suggest that you cease behaving like this and find another website that is perfect for a boy like you. Probably Poptropica, if you like games, but if you'd like a website like Wikipedia, try Wikia! There are a ton of other websites perfect for you - excluding this very Wikipedia.
