Managing a conflict of interest

edit

Hello, Walesgreens. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Rahul Mewawalla, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies. Note that Wikipedia's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Widefox; talk 01:59, 20 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Rahul Mewawalla, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. you've done this several times. [1] [2] [3] Widefox; talk 02:01, 20 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or change content, as you did to List of Kellogg School of Management alumni, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Fails verification - source does not state he is a "founder" as written.   Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add soapboxing, promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, as you did at Rahul Mewawalla, you may be blocked from editing. [5] Widefox; talk 09:14, 24 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Do you have any other accounts, or had any communication outside of wikipedia about this person or article? This account was created the day the article was requested to be speedy deleted. Any connection with the account User:Emilysantoss? I see there was confirmed sockpuppets the last time this was deleted. Do you know or have other accounts or have any connection with them per WP:SOCK WP:MEAT? Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Jimbollins/Archive .

Disruptive editing

edit

There is no COI and it is unfortunate that Widefox is engaging in disruptive editing. No edits were made to the article instead information including sources / citations were provided directly on Widefox's talk page (which Widefox has deleted) to help him improve the article - the quality of the article has certainly deteriorated post Widefox's disruptive edits and it seems that he has no intent to improve article or be open to suggestions on how to improve the article.

You're welcome to comment at the AfD, where we are currently all in agreement it should be deleted.
