Prods edit

To quote a message I got: "Hi Peridon, just a quick note re this, [2], it is actually acceptable for a user to remove the prod tag from an article they created, see Wikipedia:Proposed deletion#Conflicts. Major weakness I know, but there you are--Jac16888 (talk) 23:29, 26 December 2008 (UTC)" Speedy deletion and AfD mustn't be removed by the creator of the article, but seemingly prods can. B**** daft, but there it is. I stick to SD and AfD so I can put tags back and warn them when they delete them. Usually, the ones who delete are the ones that really need to go. The others are either acknowledging their error (of cheek) or use hangon. The hangons go two ways on the whole: most just delaying the inevitable, and some asking for help. One or two get argumentative. Keep up the good work. Peridon (talk) 17:13, 31 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

You're welcome. Don't forget to sign with four ~ (or use the squiggle button above the box) when you post on Talk Pages. (I'm assuming it was you - the other one I left a message for wouldn't be saying that....) Peridon (talk) 17:24, 31 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Games edit

Don't play his game. He's probably a sockpuppet, or the sort of vandal that reposts stuff for the hell of it. (We get them sometimes at my other abode...) He's trying to wind people up. Peridon (talk) 19:28, 31 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

December 2008 edit

Hello. I noticed today that you were doing newpages patrolling but are not marking some of the pages you visit as patrolled. Though this is not mandatory in any way, and should not be done for all newpages, where appropriate it keeps your fellow patrollers from wasting time reviewing the same page multiple times. In any event, keep up the good work! Thanks. Steven Ian Meisel, Christopher W Sinclair Omarcheeseboro (talk) 20:40, 31 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, Ill be more careful about that.--Wadeperson (talk) 20:44, 31 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Information about PROD removal edit

I noticed that on the talk page for Four Bars Entertainment/4-Clicc you stated that it's vandalism for the creator of a page to remove a PROD notice. This isn't quite correct. Any user, including the creator of a page, may remove a PROD notice. (See Wikipedia:Prod#Conflicts.) It is, however, inappropriate for the creator of an article to remove a WP:SPEEDY notification from a page. Flopsy Mopsy and Cottonmouth (talk) 00:44, 5 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Prod for Four Bars Entertainment/4-Clicc edit

I removed the PROD for Four Bars Entertainment/4-Clicc, because its deletion has been contested previously. If you still feel the page deserves to be deleted please take it to WP:AFD. Wishing you a good day! TonyBallioni (talk) 01:32, 5 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Question on {db-spam} tag edit

Hi Wadeperson. I wanted to work on improving the [Contract Research Organization] page with relevant articles and resources. A section of that page is "Notable CROs" yet this list is hardly comprehensive and apparently has been limited to only include CROs with their own article. Thus, I wanted to create an article on Prologue Research. I made an effort to find and source as many external links as possible for the Prologue article, but apparently being new to Wiki writing, still made it seem like blatant advertising.

Any suggestions on how to reformat this page to make it more encyclopedic? Perhaps remove the "Services" section, some 'advertising' language, and sources to Prologue's website?

Thanks for your help. Azupnick (talk) 14:55, 7 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Update: Significant rewrite to make the article more encyclopedic: removed advertising sections, added more news items, and cited almost all non-company external sources. Please review and consider removing {db-spam} tag. Thanks Azupnick (talk) 15:40, 7 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Persons with a conflict of interest, such as A. Zupnick, Marketing Manager of Prologue Research, should not be involved in writing or editing articles about the subject. --Orange Mike | Talk 17:26, 7 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Update: Thanks for the feedback. Being new to Wiki in general it's obvious I'm still learning some concepts and policies. I'm not currently the marketing manager, but acknowledge a link to the company, thus will step away. The latest edit was an attempt to remove any 'advertising' language and I'll shortly take out any potential copywrite infringements, so I'm now hoping someone else can edit/reword some portions to make the article compliant and appropriate for Wiki consumption. Do note links are almost completely external to the company website and attempt to be informational. Lots of people are truly curious about the drug development process, specifically for cancer patients, so my hope was to add some information about what goes on behind the scenes with outsourcing and CROs. I have some additional market data and sources to add to Contract Research Organizations but don't want to expend the time if everything will be deleted. Speedy deletion converted to PROD: The Dorman Model edit

Hello Wadeperson. I am just letting you know that I have converted the speedy deletion tag that you placed on The Dorman Model to a proposed deletion tag, because I do not believe CSD applies to the page in question. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 13:04, 17 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
