January 2012 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Face Raiders, please cite a reliable source for your addition. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. What source am I supposed to add? I have a 3DS and often play the game. WP Randomno (talk) 19:55, 11 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
Sorry for being so late to respond; I was unaware that you made a comment on your talk page about this. As for sourcing, here's the policy on verifiability. In other words, Wikipedia is a summary of information that has already been put out elsewhere by reliable sources (for TV episodes, it is possible to cite a specific broadcast, per WP:TVPLOT). As for video games, WikiProject Video games has put out this guideline on good sources for video game-related articles, and has even set up this custom Google search for searching said sources. Using the custom search to search for "Face Raiders" brings up a plethora of good sources, and some of them, such as this one, do contain in-depth coverage of the gameplay. I haven't gone through them to see if there's one with exact level descriptions, but odds are it's probably there somewhere. I hope this helped. File copyright problem with File:Spring Background.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Spring Background.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:52, 16 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Seeing me in Special:RecentChanges edit

Sorry I don't know that there is a way to hide me... I do know that on Meta there's a Flood flag that I can have added to my account to have me not appear in RecentChanges (at least, I think that's how it works), but I don't have that flag here on en.wp. I'll have to sleep soon, so that's something. :-/ —Justin (koavf)TCM☯ 08:57, 7 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Dear uploader:

The media file you uploaded as File:N. M. Price - Sir Walter Scott - Guy Mannering - At the Kaim of Derncleugh original scan lower quality.png appears to be missing information as to its authorship (and or source), or if you did provide such information, it is confusing for others trying to make use of the image.

It would be appreciated if you would consider updating the file description page, to make the authorship of the media clearer.

Although some images may not need author information in obvious cases, (such where an applicable source is provided), authorship information aids users of the image, and helps ensure that appropriate credit is given (a requirement of some licenses).

  • If you created this media yourself, please consider explicitly including your user name, for which: {{subst:usernameexpand|WP Randomno}} will produce an appropriate expansion,
    or use the {{own}} template.
  • If this is an old image, for which the authorship is unknown or impossible to determine, please indicate this on the file description page.
If you have any questions please see Help:File page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:57, 1 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as:

is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions, please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Theo's Little Bot (error?) 10:41, 14 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
