WALTER WILLISON Page

edit

Isn’t there an editor at Wikipedia who can fix my page? I’m not a Wikipedia editor, nor do I want to be one. My one attempt to add a page for someone else who is a legitimate performer who has been around for decades was not excepted because I don’t know how to do this.

And now my own page — as a public personality for 55 years — has been practically deleted on the grounds that it contains the same credits as my IMDB pages! My credits are nor more exclusive to IMDB than anyone elses. My bio is the same everywhere. And my page — which I did not originate — has been on Wilipedia forever.

Seriously, I am a Tony Award nominee, I have been starring on Broadway, in films and on TV for over five decades, and now someone has decided I am not worth being properly reoresented in this website and all my credits have been deleted and I just don’t get it.

I was told to add links and references and I spent time doing that tonight and it was rejected. I don’t understand. I am a public personality. My life and career are public knowledge. I am not the editor of my page. I am not anybody’s editor. I just want my page back. Before all the info was deleted it was the most complete and thorough record of my career available on line — and I am listed in other Wikipedia articles.

Someone set this up years ago. Can’t someone fix it so I am not reduced to a two line soundbite? Isn’t that what Wilipedia editors do?

Sincerely, WALTER WILLISON WAWNYC (talk) 09:43, 17 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

No one has decided that you are "not worth being properly represented in this website". The issue is one of copyright, as most of the article about you matched the text of your IMDb biography, which is subject to copyright. Wikipedia editors are volunteers and can't be expected to rewrite the article about you instantly and on demand. Once the copyright issue has been dealt with, I'm sure the article will eventually be rewritten. You can help the process along by suggesting sources that can be used to do that on the talk page of the article. Cordless Larry (talk) 09:47, 17 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
