Spam in Sinol edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Sinol (nasal spray), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Sinol is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Sinol (nasal spray), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. From the delete log on that article, it seems as though more people than myself have expressed issue with that article. For starters, it lacks 3rd party external references. It has links only to the company website, and you have not changed the article from the first time you tried to create it. Also, you evaded the deletion by creating a new article under a slightly different name. If you were to find 3rd party (newspaper) references about this product, then we could start to get this article looking better, however I would suggest editing the protoarticle on your own userpage and not put it back in the mainspace until we get it looking less like spam, and more encyclopedic. Oh, and I didnt delete the article. I just tagged it. Queerbubbles | Leave me Some Love 10:54, 16 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Sinol (nasal spray). While objective prose about products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Thank you. Carlosguitar (Yes Executor?) 02:17, 30 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your article was indeed an advertisement, as deemed by multiple editors. Any attempt at equivalence with Nyquil is foolhardy, as that article is obviously not written in advertising-style prose and is about a well-known, notable product. There appears to be few or no independent, reliable sources of information about Sinol that I can find. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 14:33, 3 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
