My layout edit

Well, I made the layout myself. It is a little complicated. But, I can make the layout for you on your user page and all you will have to do is add the text you want. If you want me to do this, I will have to add lots of subpages, for it to work. (User:VulpineLady/Example).

Campbellsville, Kentucky edit

Thanks for your note to the members of WikiProject Kentucky. I've moved the discussion to the project's talk page.

Looking at the edit history for Campbellsville, Kentucky, it appears neither editor was entirely correct in his/her course of action. It is, in fact, very common for city articles to have a section mentioning its notable residents. The most standardized heading name that I've seen is "Notable natives". However, this section should be a bulleted list with the name of the resident (wiki-linked) and a very brief description of why they are notable. (As in, one sentence or a sentence fragment.) The rest of their biographical information should go in the article about the person himself/herself. For a good example, see Owensboro, Kentucky. That list is particularly long, so it has subheadings built in, but that's not necessary for a shorter list. Also, if the person does not have his or her own Wikipedia article, they probably shouldn't be included in the list. If the person is definitely notable, you might include them as a red link, but I'd definitely put a citation that demonstrates his/her notability. A citation demonstrating that they are/were, in fact, a native is great too.

Regarding the cruising information, I'd be inclined to remove it. It isn't cited to a reliable source and as such, constitutes original research.

Hope this helps. Drop a line on my talk page if you need any more help or information. Acdixon (talk contribs count) 16:59, 18 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

I looked at the history of the page and created the Notable natives section as it should look. No sense reverting and catching some legit edits in the rollback. I'd say you're unlikely to find enough information about cruising town to make it either notable or encyclopedic, but I could be wrong. Hope this helps; drop me a note if you need anything else. Acdixon (talk contribs count) 18:48, 18 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
Regarding your most recent note, it seems the deletion of the notable natives section was done by a misguided IP user. One instance is probably not enough to justify page protection. I wouldn't be able to provide that anyway. If the problem becomes persistent, you might drop a note to Willking1979. He's a good admin from eastern Kentucky. Hope this helps. Sarasota Curse edit

I've lived in Lee County since 1984, back when the Royals were here. I never heard of the Sarasota Curse until I read it here. I don't think it is very encyclopedic. Niteshift36 (talk) 04:29, 15 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Call of Duty : WikiProject Software edit

Hello VulpineLady, I hope you enjoy editing wikipedia, and love being a member of WikiProject software. I am here to ask you a favor, to help make the WikiProject Software Members List a bit more organized.

Several members are inactive, semi-active, without changing their status in the list, which makes it hard to summon them when in need. Could you please take an initiative to ask the members individually, and update the page? If you get no response in 7 days, mark them semi-active and if any account is silent for 2 weeks, mark them inactive. Also, edit the comments/area of expertise of the members when they update you.

Please let me know within 3 days, if you are up to it; else I have to call someone else in for it. – DebPokeEditList ‖ 21:26, 2 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • I don't get on often enough to be able to guarantee that level of assist. Thank you for thinking of me,though.

I am Active on Wiki (mostly in monitoring), though I usually limit my actual log ins to "when absolutely needed". VulpineLady (talk) 17:45, 13 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

I get it... thanks anyways! – DebPokeEditList ‖ 18:18, 13 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Bi-lingual signs edit

Regarding your comment, "Signs in Spanish I simply abhor.", on the Ref Desk, I just wanted to say that I was happy to read it. Depending on who I say it around, I sometimes get scolded for suggesting that people should learn English when they move to the US. I've been to Europe a few times and have tried to pick up as much German as I can both before and during my trips. If I were to live there, I'd try to fully learn the language of the area that I was in. Dismas|(talk) 10:51, 16 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

too right! "when in Rome" and all that. Modern entitlement simply rankles. Last I checked our Official Language was "English", not "English and Spanish/Puerto Rican/etc" ::nodnod:: VulpineLady (talk) 11:20, 16 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
