Copyrights on Wikipedia edit

Howdy and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that you added the tag "Text (c) 2006 by John Steven Lasher. All Rights Reserved. This text may not be edited without the permission of vox melba cylinders" to Kinopanorama and a similar tag to Chastity, Truth and Kinopanorama and Opasniye Povoroty. Such tags are not permitted on Wikipedia, as all material must be licsensed under GFDL. See Wikipedia:Copyrights for more details. If you would like to have the material deleted, simply add a {{db|Author requests deletion}} tag to the top (but do so quickly). Thanks, --TeaDrinker 04:07, 19 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Reply:

the copyright tags have been removed as requested, as the entry has been edited to remove them.

The entry for Chastity, Truth and Kinopanorama has been re-typed.

Adding info about your own company edit

Hi. You're creating good articles about subjects which are underrepresented in wikipedia. However, please review the wikipedia:notability and wikipedia:external links policies, especially when writing about your own company. I have removed the link to the Vox melba cylinders website in the phonograph cylinder article, and I have marked Vox Melba Mastering Labs for speedy deletion because it is a non-notable company. Also, could you clarify the copyright status of Chastity, Truth and Kinopanorama? You have said that it is copyrighted by one of your coworkers, which means it is a copyright violation unless you can clear that up.

Happy editing. Graham talk 10:16, 19 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

I thoroughly disagree with you regarding you statment that Vox Melba Mastering Labs is a non-notable company. Utter nonsense.

Firstly, it is not my company. I designed a cylinder playback module for the company, who has also hired me to produce several albums for them.

I have previously clarified the copyright status of Chastity, Truth and Kinopanorama, and following your unnecessary deletion, have retyped the text to remove any mention of copyright on the part of the author of the text. This was not typed by a co-worker, it was typed by me. Where do you arrive at these ideas?

Lastly, as I wish to inform other Wikipedia management about your deletions, I request that you inform me the procedures in which to do so.

John Steven Lasher.

I was basically going to give you the same response, but here goes; As your username suggests, you are somehow related to the subjet of the article, which warrants what we call vanity editing, remember, you may not be, but your username indicates it. Secondly, there is no sign in the article that the company meets our notability criteria, which can be found at WP:WEB, notability criteria laid out to prevent Wikipedia from becoming a directory listing, we already have the yellow pages for that. Lastly, the management can be contacted through various means at Wikipedia:Contact us -Obli (Talk)? 05:56, 20 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

AfDs added to John Steven Lasher and Chastity, Truth and Kinopanorama edit

I've added these articles to Wikipedia:Articles for Deletion (March 20), because it is blatantly counter to Wikipedia:Autobiography, Wikipedia:Vanity guidelines, and Wikipedia:Notability (people). Please do not take it personally. I happen to enjoy your work on the Wikipedia at large, and I am fascinated by the recent developments in Kinopanorama. However, would I suggest that you carefully read these pages before you do any further work or respond to AfD, as it will explain my concerns. Certainly some of this info should be in the Wikipedia; some shouldn't. However, in either case, I would disrecommend you from adding information about things and people you are a direct party to. If the information is truly encyclopedic, a fully neutral third party will add it eventually, I'm certain. This is all I have to say on the matter and trust that any comments you have will be directed within the AfD comments, as they will doubtless be far more effective in determining the final outcome. You are welcome to respond to me directly if you have other concerns, however. Thanks! Girolamo Savonarola 03:59, 20 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Civility edit

Please observe civility in your interactions with people on wikipedia. We are all trying to help you become a more productive editor, but we are also trying to create the highest-quality encyclopedia that we can. There are some types of edits that are welcome (e.g. fact-filled and well-written articles), and some which are not (e.g. external links to non-notable websites). We're trying to help you.

When you write articles like Daniele Amfitheatrof, it would be good if you provided a reliable source so that other editors could verify the information. See Wikipedia:Citing sources sources for more information on this, but if you don't want to use too much wiki markup, put the sources in a ==References section, with the date of access if they are web sources. ISBN's would be useful for book sources. A badly formatted source is better than no source at all!

Also, the correct way to sign in wikipedia is using four tildes ("~~~~"). This will produce a link to your username and the current date and time. You can change the text of your signature in your preferences.

Also, if you don't want your username to be associated with the company, you can change it at Wikipedia:Changing username. I would strongly recommend this, as wikipedia is not a place to promote particular companies, and that is what your user name effectively does. Maybe use your real name, or an internet handle.

Happy editing. Graham talk 10:31, 20 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Mir Kino Theatre edit

The article Mir Kino Theatre has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A more in-detail article was independedly created by Pavliukdanila at The world (concert hall). That article may need to be renamed, though.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ~Maplestrip/Mable (chat) 09:35, 16 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
