Reviewing articles at AFC edit

Be sure to add as much of the following as applies (or that you know) to articles about people, especially living ones, when you accept them:

and be sure to add the following to the article's talk page:

You can skip the defaultsort and listas= parts if the article name is "the" name for sorting purposes, as would be the case for a stage name or someone from a country where people sort names by the "first" name.

If you are using the beta version of the AFC submission script, this will be done for you if you check the appropriate boxes when you accept the submission, BUT if you are doing someone with a stage name or a "sort by first name" name, you need to correct the defaultsort and listas that the bot adds, because it assumes that the last name is the family name, which is not true in all countries.

I fixed up Jim Elvidge and its talk page for you. Thanks for all you do at WP:AFC. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 18:02, 13 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy-A7 of Blacktop Comedy edit

Hey there—I'm letting you know that I've nominated Blacktop Comedy for speedy deletion A7, because it doesn't seem to indicate why the company is important. (It also seems overly promotional, though I didn't tag it as such; the fact that the references only point to "it exists!" or "upcoming events" pages doesn't help, nor did the fact that you put its street address in the lead.) Feel free to contest this on the talk page. Thanks, —Ignatzmicetalkcontribs 22:21, 13 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Egypt Lawson edit

The article Egypt Lawson has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:NOTABILITY; closest thing to a notability claim, the CNN coverage, is not in sources listed.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. April 2013 edit

Hello, I'm NatGertler. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to Blacktop Comedy because it appeared to be promotional. Speedy deletion nomination of Lovende edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Lovende requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Speedy deletion nomination of Latency Optimizer edit

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Latency Optimizer, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an acceptable page. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this page is not blatant advertising,  . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You are welcome to edit the page to fix this problem, but please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. As well as removing promotional phrasing, it helps to add factual encyclopaedic information to the page, and add citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the page will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. duffbeerforme (talk) 11:55, 17 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

April 2013 edit

Hello, Voidz. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

 • You need not declare your conflict of interest, but we recommend it.
 • Do not edit articles about yourself, your organization, or your competitors. Do not edit related articles. (Exceptions.)
 • Post suggestions and sources on the article's talk page, or create a draft in your user space.
 • Your role is to summarize, inform and reference — not to promote, sell, or whitewash.
 • If writing a draft, write without bias, as if you don't work for the company or personally know the subject.
 • Have us review your draft.
 • Work with us and we'll work with you.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Please note that Wikipedia is not a medium for advertising. JamesBWatson (talk) 15:01, 17 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:Ankaka Logo.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:Ankaka Logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:02, 26 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Stella Mahlisa edit

A tag has been placed on Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Stella Mahlisa, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

blatantly promotional - sole purpose of this non-submitted page in WP:AFC space seems to be to promote the named company.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 03:41, 26 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:Carly Alyssa Thorne.png edit

The file File:Carly Alyssa Thorne.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Uploaded for Carly Alyssa Thorne. No other use.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 12:19, 16 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
