Northern Ireland edit
On the Tyson Fury page, English boxers have the English flag but Northern Irish boxers have the flag of the UK. Can you explain your reverts? Thanks. Vember94 (talk) 17:22, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
The Union Jack has been used for Northern Irish boxers due to the fact that the Ulster Banner is not recommended for use on wikipedia as per MOS:FLAG. However, changing the English flags lead to controversy and edit wars, and, as the English flag is still technically correct in this context, I thought it best to leave the issue lie.
I am quite happy to change the flags of English boxers to the Union Jack as this is indeed preferable, but bear in mind that it is not always realistic to attempt to enforce consistency with regards to the nationality issues surrounding the United Kingdom as someone somewhere always seems to get upset over it. As I said I'll give it a go, but I am not prepared to become embroiled in an edit war over this. VoiceOfReason922 (talk) 00:58, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
