License tagging for Image:MDR by usga.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:MDR by usga.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Unspecified source for Image:UCLA_vanguard.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:UCLA_vanguard.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:44, 9 March 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- SteinbDJ · talk · contributions 21:44, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
The photo was take by myself. I don't have any copyright to the photo and I am just trying to share it with the public. I will figure out how to fix copyright info soon.
Sailing links
editDue to the conflict over external links, I've started a discussion at #talk:Sailing#External links, 2009. Your input would be appreciated. Will Beback talk 19:39, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
Hi,
I'm not sure why I can't respond to you.
I added a link to the US Sailing webpage which is the NATIONAL authority for sailing in the US. It controls all racing and olympic bids for athletes. I'm not sure why sailmaster keeps deleting it. He keeps ASA which is another smaller sailing association in the US so his logic is flawed.
I also added a link to the UCLA sailing manual. Again it has no advertisement and is a FREE resource on learning to sail. I'm not sure why he keeps deleting a valid free link.
- That user appears to be the websmater of a commercial site, and he may consider other sites as competition. I've given him a final warning not to re-add links to his site. The UCLA MAC sailing guide is nice, though it's very specific for the location, the club rules, and the club's boats. So it's not ideal for general readers, but it's good enough to include. __________ I agree the manual has lots of specific info at the beginning for UCLA but the second half of the manual is about general sailing. It was written to share a love of sailing with the general public. Thank you for keeping it up. The manual is actually used at a few dozen yacht clubs for teaching (some of whom are outside the US).
UCLA Marina Aquatic Center
editUCLA Marina Aquatic Center has real problems as an article. It has been tagged by others as reading like an advertisement, and as being an orphan (nothing links to it). I'd be inclined to delete it for lack of any assertion of notability. Do you want to take a stab at improving it or shall we just let it go? Will Beback talk
I made some changes to make it not like an advertisement. Let me know if that is better. I will try to add pictures and some history about UCLA and the sports that compete at the facility.
- It's a little better, but it has a long way to go. Pictures, while nice, won't solve the problems with the article. Those problems include: the tone of the article, the lack of 3rd-party sources, and the writing quality. Will Beback talk 11:12, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
I will go back in and attempt to make more changes.
