Input for next Wikiproject Collaboration edit

Seeing as we are almost done with the Andrés Avelino Cáceres collaboration and March is coming up. I'd thought that I should inform you and the other members of WP:Peru that you can add your thoughts on what you think the next project collaboration should be on at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Peru#Collaboration.--Jersey Devil 21:17, 25 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thankx edit

Thanx for all the changes you made to the Peru article. It looks a lot better since the last time i read it. I'm from Peru too. --CesarCossio 08:19, 4 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hello there! I'm also peruvian, and most of the time I try to prevent POV pushing that involves the history and politics of our country. This time; however, a new Wikipedian from Ecuador has attempted to introduce POV in this page. I removed, and he is claiming that the problem is now my person here in Wikipedia. He started a flame war last time (wich you can see in the talk page). Personally, I'm only trying to give the article a fair and NPOV shape. Please, I would gladly recieve any sign of support in this article. Cheers! and I hope to hear from you soon. Messhermit 03:05, 10 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

 • Hello. I'm from Ecuador. Please note that adding facts and sources from the Ecuadorian side is not POV. Perhaps putting a picture of the Peruvian monument to victory in the article Ecuadorian-Peruvian war, claiming as a historical truth that Ecuador sent troops to occupy Zarumilla, or adding a list of Peruvian heroes could be categorized as NPOV attitudes. But let us leave that to Messhermit.

As for the flame war of months ago, it was not started by me. You can read my attempts to have a moderator see Messhermit's conduct regarding unjustified reverts. Please read the section Complaints of Deletion in Messhermit's talk page. It must be noted that this IP user is the same person that later wrote the article under the nick Neurodivergent. Hope you can help, regardless of nationalities. Regards, and sorry to bother you. Andres C. 15:05, 10 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your support.

 • As you can see this user relies mostly on Ecuadorian versions of the war. Most of this have either the title Peruvian Aggresion or Peruvian Invasion, and I really have my doubts about the neutrality and imparciality that those sources are.
 • This Ecuadorian user clearly believes that he has the truth on his sides, and usually gets military figures out of nowhere. his goal thus is presenting a weak and innocent Ecuador against an all mighty and aggresive Peruvian State.
 • Regarding the Flame War, this user claims to be the victim of my aggressions. Nothing more baseless, since who in his sane mine would use grammatical errors against another wikipedist and make a big fuss over them? or who will accuse another wikipedist of treason to his country just because I didn't serve in my army?.

Best regards, and keep an eye on the page. It seems that we are gonna see Ecuadorian POV pushings for some time. Messhermit 18:25, 10 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

It seems that, regarding the fact that you have clearly stated that no territory was lost by neither side, the other user involved will not accept your contribution. It clearly wants to make believe the reader that Ecuador Lost territory in favor of Peru. Help me to get rid of that Biased and baseless proposition. Messhermit 00:47, 13 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Luis H. Delgado is a Peruvian historian. The figures are not from nowhere Messhermit, they are from books. No, I don't have the truth on my side. Ecuador lost the war because it's military forces were weak and unprepared. That's not Peru's fault. That's Ecuador's own fault. Please keep cool Messhermit. Finally, I think this is not the place to go on discussing this things. I suspect Vivaperucarajo is not pleased to see this discussion between two other Wikipedists in his talk page. For that, I present my apologies to Vivaperucarajo. Regards. Andres C. 19:09, 10 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

oh well...you know, sometimes it's not so easy for people to understand each other over the internet. Nothing to worry about, we all just need to have a little patience. Anyway, after all the details that I gave you regarding the change of territory that ocurred as a result of the 1942 treaty, relative to the statu-quo line agreed upon by both parties in 1936, what is exactly what you want the article to say?

 • a, that there was not a single square yard that changed hands relative to the 1936 line (which is wrong)?
 • b, that there were 13,000-plus km2 that changed hands, (which is wrong)?
 • c, that there were 23,000-plus km2 that changed hands?
 • d, that Ecuador gave to Peru 18,000-plus km2 and Peru to Ecuador 5,000-plus km2?

If you could give us a more clear answer, we can fix this faster. BTW, the original text about 14,000 km2 changing hands was not mine. If you allow me to make a suggestion, readers would be better informed if we chose option d.

Participants in World War II edit

You edited the entry for Peru to state that Peru destroyed a U-boat and a "battleship". Given that the German Navy had few battleships (2 or 4 depending on your definition) and their histories are known, which ship are you referring to and what's your reference? Folks at 137 00:10, 12 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

I got this information from the history section in the Peru article and there are many sources there if you are interested. As you state there were few German battle ships and the specific type of ship might have been confused. As I said there are many sources there to be sure.

Thank you, Vivaperucarajo 06:06, 12 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Checked the sources on the Peru page, but no support for the actions against the Kriegsmarine. Checked elsewhere, still no support. I've left messages with other editors: if their replies are also negative, then I think that the claims are false, especially with the recent amend history to the Peru page. Pity, I like proving unlikely stories. Give it a day or 2. Folks at 137 11:01, 13 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your interest and time. It is appreciated. I also came up with an idea of going to into more detail of Peru's involvment in the war because it directly affected a different war at the time between Peru and Ecuador and the United States' strong push against hemispherical unity against the Axis Powers.

Thank you, Vivaperucarajo 04:22, 14 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

LAN Peru at MIA edit

LANPeru is listed as (LAN operated by Lan Peru) because the airline is serviced as LAN at MIA, by LAN Staff, and operates as a LAN flight. I'm not even sure they use LanPeru Aircraft, if the airline was separate from LAN, then we'd listed by itself, but since it is operated as a subsidiary of LAN at MIA, then the airline is listed together. Same goes for JFK, I believe. Thanks. – SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 19:47, 26 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Still, all flights have the same check-in space, and ground staff, which is what is being listed at MIA since it only has one big terminal. If we listed as a separate airline, people will think that it has its own separate check-in area, staff, etc. It's like US Airways operated by America West. – SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 20:05, 26 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

The only reason they have the same check-in space and ground staff is for convienience reasons. This doesen't mean that the flight is operated by LAN Airlines. The list refers to which airlines fly in and out of the airport. Vivaperucarajo 21:27, 26 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Alright, I thought that LanPeru wasn't flying its own metal to MIA, and instead using LAN planes as they did before, but I actually saw the 767 take off yesterday so that really shut me up. LOL. – SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 14:49, 29 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

It's OK as it is a common mistake. Actually for most of the existance of the airline they have been using their own planes. I have flown with them a number of times the first being in 2000 and they still operated their own planes as I still use the dinner platter for my sandwiches. LOL. Thank You, Vivaperucarajo 05:43, 30 March 2006 (UTC) P.S. I have been to Miami 9 times and it is beautiful cityReply

I knew they used their own metal in Peru, A320s and such, but I didn't know they used their own planes for long international segments, like to MIA or JFK, or MAD (do they fly to MAD?). I always remember seeing only LAN planes at MIA, and I knew they it was mostly LAN flying to places like Bogota, Caracas, Cancun, Punta Cana, and of course Santiago, from Miami so I assumed that it would be the same for Lima. Do you know if LANEcuador has its own planes, too? I'm actually pretty bored of Miami, I've been wanting to move for a while to another part of the country. I got plenty of pride for the place (being my hometown and all), but I want a change of scenery, you know. I've been living here for 16 years after moving from Houston at age five, and from Colombia before then when my family immigrated. I guess you probably know I speak Spanish now, too (who doesn't in Miami?).

Lim edit

Hello! I really agree with you about Lim and what you did with the pages of the airport and the bay... but I don't agree with the fact that the disambiguation page was deleted, because now, if someone is searching for the Lim bay, he/she cannot find it easily. I think there should also be a disambiguation page and if I'm not mistaken there was one with 3 links to 3 different articles, but I don't remember which articles. So, please can you tell me which articles were on the disambiguation page (if you still remember them) so that I can rewrite the page? Thank you. --Ivana 20:06, 28 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

It's not a problem. :) Tomorrow I'll start a disambiguation page with Lim Airport and Lim bay! ;) --Ivana 22:56, 29 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Vivaperucarajo 05:05, 14 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

perdona la intromision, pero Aerolineas Argentinas no es "100% argentino", hace mucho tiempo fue vendido al consorcio Marsans (español) que lo controla 100%.--194.203.215.254 (talk) 16:07, 20 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yeah I have noticed this problem within the last couple of days, it appears to be a server problem. The images are fine, they are just not displaying. Purging at image will get it to appear, example url: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Image:Andahuaylasairport.png&action=purge

Captain Rolden International Airport edit

I've been working on putting infoboxes in airports and had a bit of trouble when I came to this airport. The "Airport information for SPCL". World Aero Data. Archived from the original on 2019-03-05.cite web: CS1 maint: unfit URL (link) Data current as of October 2006. is the correct code for the airport but when I got there to get the information it says it is "Cap. FAP David Abenzur Rengifo Airport". When I searched through Google I got results for both. There were more for Captian Rolden but the two main sources (World Aero Database & Falling Rain both have the Rengifo name. I saw you created the article and was hoping you could help sort it out. Wayraperu and LIM edit

Hello. You must be referring to my July 30 edit on Jorge Chávez International Airport. Let me clarify something with regard to my edit. I DO NOT insist to the fact of Avianca operated by Wayraperu. Whatever the relations of the two companies is, I do not care. What I care about is that the anonymous edit before me, which I reverted, simply erased Wayraperu from the list of airlines, thus making it look like there are no Wayraperu flights at all. Your comment on my talk page edit

I'm going to say this exactly once: I do not care what you think or want. I am going to go through the process of deleting every single copyright violation that you have uploaded to wikipedia. Every single one. This involves nominating all of them for deletion and telling you that they are being considered for deletion. The fact that you have trimmed the copyright notice off of scores of images makes it clear that you uploaded them in bad faith. You have had multiple warnings concerning copyrights placed on your talk page. If you want them removed, the process is simple: contact an adminstrator, tell them that you want to be permenately banned from wikipedia, and request that they blank your page as you leave. Until then, you must stop uploading copyrighted material to wikipedia. End of story. --Descendall 03:49, 11 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Do not edit my comments on your page edit

From Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines:

Don't edit others' comments: Refrain from editing others' comments without their permission (with the exception of prohibited material such as libel and personal details). It is not necessary to bring talk pages to publishing standards, so there is no need to correct typing errors, grammar, etc. It tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Never edit someone's words to change their meaning.

Thanks. --Descendall 21:17, 16 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

You should just make an archive and store everything above in it, it's what we all do when our talk pages get filled up. It should be noted that removing warnings on Wikipedia is generally considered bad form but since I am pretty sure that wasn't your intention I'm not going to start riding you for that. But still, you should know that for future reference. Later.--Jersey Devil 02:52, 17 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:Escudolima.gif edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Escudolima.gif. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fritz S. (Talk) 11:45, 26 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Escudolima.gif) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Escudolima.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Roberto Carrión Pollit edit

A tag has been placed on Roberto Carrión Pollit, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add hangon on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Bmg916 Speak to Me 18:57, 11 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

List of 30 largest cities in Peru edit

Howdy, I wanted to let you know I tagged the article you created and blanked, List of 30 largest cities in Peru for speedy deletion. My guess from the blanking was that you wanted the page deleted. If there is anything I can help with, feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page, User_talk:TeaDrinker. Thanks and keep up the great work! --TeaDrinker 23:31, 6 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please abide by consensus which is to have no flag icons. Also, the consensus for the destination list is to have the city, not the airport, and without a link. Please take a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Airports#Airport article structure and Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Airports#Ministro Pistarini International Airport for some relevant material. We thank you for uploading Image:Peru-Gran Colombia.PNG, but there is a problem. Your image is currently missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Unless you can help by adding a copyright tag, it may be deleted by an Administrator. If you know this information, then we urge you to add a copyright tag to the image description page. We apologize for this, but all images must confirm to policy on Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks so much for your cooperation.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Union por el Peru1.png) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Union por el Peru1.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:27, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Peru edit

Hello, I was wondering about your recent additions to the Peru article. I think adding so much info on recent economic data and forecasts goes in detriment of the article's quality. According to Wikipedia:WikiProject Countries, a country article is supposed to summarize the more relevant info about a particular nation without going into excessive detail, otherwise the article would quickly grow out of control. The Peru article has, in its current form, appropriately condensed the most important topics about the country and has been recognized as a featured article in Wikipedia. I see no point in expanding it further, instead, we should be working in improving subarticles such as Economy of Peru which are not in a good shape. If you still think the extra info should go in, let's have a discussion at Talk:Peru so that all interested wikipedians can voice their opinions and we can reach a consensus before making these changes. Greetings, --Victor12 (talk) 00:03, 25 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Template:CF party edit

A tag has been placed on Template:CF party requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>transclusionless</noinclude>).

AfD nomination of List of most populous provinces in Peru edit

I have nominated List of most populous provinces in Peru, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of most populous provinces in Peru. Unreferenced BLPs edit

Hello Vivaperucarajo! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 3 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 939 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the unreferencedBLP tag. Here is the list:

Your contributed article, List of the 15 Most Populous metropolitan areas in Peru edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, List of the 15 Most Populous metropolitan areas in Peru. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - :. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at : - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Cmonzonc (talk) 23:07, 3 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

The article List of the 15 Most Populous metropolitan areas in Peru has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This is an original research, It does not have enough references, and in fact there are unreliable, even one of them is a blog. only the references of some metropolitan areas are verifiable, with regard to the "population" of the same this is not verifiable, about the same article in other languages, all were created by the same IP, there seems to be making a claim <pasar> that oinformación as true or trustworthy

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Please attribute or claim media you uploaded or restored: File:Location of Sullana Province.PNG edit

You uploaded or restored , File:Location of Sullana Province.PNG, but for various reasons did not add an information block, or indicate your (user) name on the file description page. Media uploaded to Wikipedia needs information on the SPECIFIC authorship and source of files, to ensure that it complies with copyright laws in various jurisdictions.

If it's entirely your own work:
please include own in the relevant source field, amend the information added by a third party, ensuring that your user name (or name you want used for attribution) is clear in the author field, and change the license to an appropriate "self" variant (if such a license is not already used). You should also add an |author= parameter to the license tag, to assist reviews and image patrollers.

When you have copmpleted the above steps: to indicate that you've accepted the given the license shown, and updated the file description page appropriately.

If it's not entirely your own work, or the media is based on the work of others:
Please update the source and authorship fields, so that they accurately reflect the source and authors of the original work(s), as well as the derivative you created. You should also not use a "self" license unless the work is entirely you own. Media that is incorrectly claimed as self or own, will eventually be listed at Files for Discussion or deleted, unless it's full status is entirely clear to other contributors, reviewers and image patrollers. You should also read Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission which details how to confirm any permissions you obtained for works by others that are still in copyright.

Whilst this notification, relates to a single media upload, it would also be appreciated if you could ensure that appropriate attribution exists for other media you uploaded, You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If media is not claimed, and there's no other obvious source or authorship information, the file may have to be removed for copyright reasons.

It's okay to remove or strike messages like this once the concerns have been addressed. :). ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 15:48, 18 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Location of Huancabamba Province.png edit

Thank you for uploading File:Location of Huancabamba Province.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
