Intelligent Speaker moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Intelligent Speaker, is currently an ad and does not demonstrate notability. Since you have a conflict of interest with the product, we ask that you don't create the article directly in mainspace but rather that you submit it through Articles for Creation.

I've moved your article to drafts. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace (which it currently is not), please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.

Thjarkur (talk) 19:13, 28 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Yes I have conflict of interests - this is article about my product, but I added as a reference interview about this product on independent media - dev.by, and this product was a featured editors pick, and have a lot of users. This is not enough? What can I improve?
Vitaly Zdanevich (talk) 19:29, 28 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Well first of all the article is currently just an advert. The single interview is a start but it's not enough to demonstrate WP:GNG. If your product ever becomes notable enough to be included in an encyclopedia, someone uninvolved will eventually write about it. – Thjarkur (talk) 20:19, 28 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Vitaly Zdanevich. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Intelligent Speaker".

Speedy deletion nomination of The Platinum Searcher edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Platinum Searcher, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. File formats edit

Hello,

On 16 October 2021 you asked at the help desk how you could upload MP3 files to Commons. Might I suggest you convert whatever files you wish to upload to ogg? You can do this with a program like ffmpeg; with that program, all you would need to do is open a terminal, navigate to the folder with the MP3 file, and type ffmpeg -i [filename].mp3 [filename].ogg. Compared to MP3, ogg is not a proprietary format and provides better quality for a smaller filesize. Regards, DesertPipeline (talk) 22:33, 18 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, yes, I can convert to opus, but if source file is already mp3 - I want to save quality - additional reencoding will reduce it. Vitaly Zdanevich (talk) 01:43, 19 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Perhaps you can upload both an MP3 and an ogg version when you want to upload something encoded as MP3 by default? The same applying for any other proprietary format file you want to upload. DesertPipeline (talk) 16:25, 19 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
MP3 _was_ proprietary, now it is open. And opus provides better size/quality ratio than vorbis, ogg can be a container format - not an encoding format. No value to waste Wikimedia servers space by uploading two formats - original mp3 and opus in reduced quality. Vitaly Zdanevich (talk) 20:23, 19 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
I was under the impression that MP3 was patent-encumbered. I checked the article on it and didn't see that anywhere. I guess I was confused? Sorry about that. DesertPipeline (talk) 17:29, 20 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

My bad for that move edit

My bad, I moved Star Monkey (Windows game from 2001) to draftspace why too quickly. I should've asked you about it beforehand to get it to your sandbox or something. My apologies. Roasted (talk) 23:31, 14 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

I found only one English review by IGN, I added a quote from the review, 2 references - I need to add something more? But looks like nothing to add more, only infobox, I created the Wikidata item but cannot assign with a draft page. Vitaly Zdanevich (talk) 23:42, 14 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
