Thank you very much, ClockworkTroll!

Peace? edit

Just to get this clear, I don't know User:MZajac. I am not his "friend". All I know is that his contributions, so far, have been good and productive, and he generally knows what he is doing, but before yesterday, I had never heard of him.

I don't know what, if anything, is going on between the two of you, but I prefer to assume good faith, and I hope that you will, too. The general policy around here is "edit first, ask questions later [if necessary]", and that is what I have been trying to do. I'm sorry if that has made you feel that you are being persecuted—you aren't, at least not by me.

See also Wikipedia:Auto-biography, which does relate to the issue of adding links to sites you are personally connected to. I'd like to consider the links on their own merits, though—you could help by directly answering questions and just ignoring personal attacks. I put in a request for comment so that we can get some people with no agenda of their own involved (personally, my only agenda is to make the articles as good as they can be, but I realize it may not seem that way from your perspective, so I thought it might be good to see if we can find some people that we can all agree are neutral.) Peace. But only if other members of Wikipedia will stop chasing me.

Just a quick example - I started to write Logo design article - after 10 minutes it was deleted without explanation.

I'm hoping that we can begin to work out the problems on Talk:Translation. I'm trying to mediate; please leave your comments in the new topic on the talk page. Thanks, Whosyourjudas (talk) 02:45, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Re: Press Release edit

Dear Vitaly,

Could you please remove or modify your 'press release' that you have placed on pretty much every page you've edited. As I said on Talk:Translation I have no connection with any of the other people mentioned in it and consider it's content to be libelous. I do not wish my name to be associated with this rant for all time and will remove it myself if you have not edited it into better shape or removed it in the next day or so. I don't really have a problem with its inclusion on Talk:Translation as the prior conversation puts it in a wider context, but I object to the fact that this has been pasted into several other articles which I have never even read, let alone edited. I have been a responsible Wikipedian for over a year, and have not yet been involved in this kind of fracas. I have often stepped into edit wars such as yours in order to give an unbiased opinion in attempt to try and settle the argument, or at least shed a little more light on it, however this is the first time such a benign action has caused such a negative reaction, including defamatory comments about someone you have never even spoken to before! Please do not assume that people who have an opinion about an article have any personal interest in the writer, or that people who share an opinion share an agenda. --HappyDog 12:27, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Apology edit

Vitaly, I am truly sorry if I gave you the impression that I was deliberating following your edits. (To be fair, that is how I found the edits at Favicon—there was truly no malicious intent in that, although I realize how easily it could look that way to you—but I got to Bookmark by following a link and I did not know you were involved with that page at first.) I am going to remove all of the related pages from my watchlist (although Translation has been on my watchlist for several weeks, at least, I shall abandon it), so if you want to talk to me, you can go to my user talk page.

In order to avoid any possibility of a conflict of interest, I'm not going to touch any of your edits anymore. (If I happen to edit an article that you once edited, it will be entirely coincidental. At the rate I get around, I can't promise that this will never happen, but I certainly don't plan for it to happen!)

I would appreciate it if you would remove some of the accusations against me from your user page and from the articles involved, but that's entirely up to you and I will not pursue the matter.

I truly never meant to reverse any of your edits without sufficient explanation. If there is anything of yours that I removed from an article that you think should still be in that article, please do add it back in and I promise to stay out of the ensuing discussion (if there is any). Again, I apologize for any trouble that I have caused or made worse. I don't know if we can be friends, but perhaps we can at least co-exist in peace? [[User:Aranel|Aranel ("Sarah")]] 17:07, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Dear Aranel, I'm happy that we have finished our little war :) Good luck!

Away with the tinfoil hat already! edit

I'm afraid you have a bit inlfated ego if you think you're important enough to be conspired against. I don't know any of the people you have had me associated with, as a matter of fact, I have no "friends" in Wikipedia, not even acquintances to speak of. As for the Logo design article, I redirected it because to me it didn't seem to contain any significant information that wouldn't have been in the logo article already (I did first consider of merging them). I often check new articles by newcomers, because those are the ones most needing editing, and I constantly come across short blurbs under gratuitous titles, and I saw your article as one of those (and no offense, I still do, mostly).

I admit that I was a bit trigger happy with the logo design article, and I apologise for that. In the future however, I would suggest not posting half-finished versions of new articles, especially ones that you have keen interest in. Somebody is going to do something to fix them, quite often something you don't like. Timo Honkasalo 18:33, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Allegations edit

Vitaly, I've noticed that you've edited your press release in various places so that it only points to me, although you still allege "group harassment".

Is there something you'd like me to do that would constitute a "reasonable resolution of conflict"? Please let me know.

If you don't want anything except to publicize my sins, then why don't you include the facts with your accusations? Add a list of my unfair reverts of your edits, or quote or link to any "personal attack" I've made, so people can see the basis for your criticism. Some readers might consider your press release and other remarks to be a personal attack, if they remain unsubstantiated.

Michael Z. 22:07, 2004 Oct 28 (UTC)

Michael, if you want you can delete all Press Releases. I hope you will stop chasing me. Personally I don't want to waste my time and discuss your actions. I need to go to training - I am going to be observer on our elections... you know it's very important - they are going to be very hot!
Peace?

False Friends of the Slavist edit

Please have a look at wikibooks:False Friends of the Slavist. With your language skills, you can help us very much there, though there is not too much to be done. See also wikibooks:Talk:False Friends of the Slavist for details on what is still needed. Thanks in advance! --Daniel Bunčić 18:28, 1 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
