Heritage edit

It's just a thought, but I have concerns about this heritage thing. Take Emerson Fittipaldi: His paternal grandfather was Italian. His paternal grandmother may therefore have been Italian, but she may not. His maternal grandmother was Russian, and therefore his maternal grandfather may have been the same. His mother was born in Poland. His father was born in Brazil. As Emerson himself has put it: "My father only has a little Italian blood". So to my knowledge Fittipaldi has Russian, Italian and Polish heritage in addition to his Brazilian nationality. Given Brazil's history (Native Indians, Imported African slaves and Portuguese colonists) 'Brazilian' likely includes other elements as well - why is Italian the most important one, and why is it important enough to put in the lead, ahead of any of the others? Happy to discuss. 4u1e 15:19, 14 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

No, but he also has Russian, Polish (both definitely) and very probably Portuguese origins. So why mention only Italian, and why in the lead (see WP:LEAD), which should be a summary of the most important bits? It's helpful if you sign your posts by putting 4 tildes (~~~~) after your posts, by the way. ;-) 4u1e 15:29, 14 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Well, I know some people find names important, but they don't represent 'heritage' particularly strongly, and even if they did, you'd only be looking at as little as 1/4 of the man's actual 'heritage'. I have to admit I find the general obsession with tracing only the male side of a family fairly puzzling. It's as likely that a sportsman's particular attributes come from his mother as his father, after all! Anyway, happy editing. 4u1e 14:42, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Derek “Rocco” Barnabei edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Derek “Rocco” Barnabei, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Derek “Rocco” Barnabei. andy (talk) 00:20, 28 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs edit

Hello Visor87! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 3 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 943 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

Disambiguation link notification for October 4 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Edoardo Stoppa, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Sarai and LA7. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Avoid copy-and-paste articles edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Parco della Preistoria di Rivolta d'Adda a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of Panacea De' Muzzi edit

Hello Visor87,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Panacea De' Muzzi for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Artigiano in Fiera moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Artigiano in Fiera, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. ... discospinster talk 20:01, 3 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
