- Oh. Thanks for bearing with me and being so nice. I apologized to that other guy who was editing the article, just in case. I'm just not familiar with this place, so don't get mad if it takes me a while to accustom myself.
- By chance I found that article because I was looking for Olympic (with the most recent one only a few months before) and saw "Cotswold Olimpick Games sports event held in England since 1602". That just looked very interesting because I never heard of any Olympics except the modern one and the Ancient Greece one. I'm not particularly interested in anything specific. I guess I'll just be editing whatever I find needs improvements, not that Cotswold Olimpick Games needed it. --Virtal (talk) 22:10, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
- (you can use colons to indent your reply) There are a lot of policies to understand and learn, but really the most important are things like WP:VERIFIABILITY, and WP:NPOV. So long as anything you add to an article—anything that might be reasonably controversial or which may be liable to be contested by another person—is correctly cited to a reliable source, you should be fine. Cotswold Olimpick Games is a pretty mature article and coincidentally has just been nominated at WP:FAC (Featured Articles are considered the best on Wikipedia). That isn't to say there's any restriction at all on you editing it (almost nobody here has the right to tell you you can't edit an article), but you'll probably find that some of your edits might be reverted, especially as Malleus is a very competent copy-editor. There are millions of articles here and most of them are in a pretty poor state, so you won't run out of things to pick apart :) It took me a while to get going here, but my writing has improved substantially since I began, and I find editing to be a rewarding experience.
