why is my page no dada no kkr deleted inspite of having many -a references from leading news papers.
- Hi Virinchi, the reason for the deletion of your article was 'no content', not a lack of references. Unfortunately, since the article is deleted, I cannot see what the problem with its contents was. You've done the right thing in contacting the admin who deleted your article directly, and I imagine they will respond when they are next online. You can sign your comments with <and this nowiki>--14.139.69.1 (talk) 08:03, 9 January 2012 (UTC)</nowiki>, is common practice on talk pages. Regards,

No Dada No KKR(NDNKKR) is a group formed after Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR), a Kolkata based franchise in the Indian Premier League(IPL) ignored ex-India captain Sourav Ganguly(Dada) in the team during the IPL auctions. Dada was the third highest run scorer in the previous edition of IPL and a prolific performer in all the seasons of IPL. It was a rejection not only from his erstwhile team KKR, but from all franchises in the auction, which led to utter bewilderment among cricket fans in the country along with tremendous anger and disappointment.
Aggrieved fans got together on social networking site Facebook and voiced their anger and grievances in the cyberspace. The anger pretty soon spilled onto the streets with the group calling for a silent protest rally in Kolkata on 16th January 2011, from Victoria Memorial to Eden Gardens as a show of solidarity with Dada and mark of protest against KKR. It turned out to be a huge procession of cricket fans numbering in thousands, which brought the city to a halt. Sensing the mass fury, the media too joined in with continuous coverage. The city of joy had risen up in anger which threatened to engulf IPL in Kolkata.
The flames of fury reached the corridors of power in CAB, BCCI and of course KKR. Moves started to reverse the blunder committed in the auction. Other teams started showing a belated interest in taking Dada in the team. BCCI announced that such a move would require an NOC from all teams. Initial reports suggested that KKR was unwilling to give the desired NOC. This enraged fans further.
This was followed by signature campaigns carried out in all parts of the country and abroad which too evoked a huge response. On 17th January, NDNKKR launched a signature campaign with the aim of sending at least 5000 signatures from across the country to BCCI, demanding inclusion of Dada in IPL. Members from all over the country joined in. A sample form was created and circulated among all. Forms filled with hundreds of signatures started arriving from all parts of the country. Volunteers joined in from Jammu, Himachal, Punjab, Delhi, Mumbai, Gujrat, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, and even far off Kanyakumari. That was not all. We had signatures coming in from Dubai, London, United States, Bangladesh, Austria. NDNKKR was slowly turning out to be a huge platform where thousands expressed there emotions and anger against the injustice and planned up the next moves. Stung by the public anger against the ill-fated IPL auction, BCCI announced a meeting on 4th February to reconsider the case of Dada’s inclusion. The signatures were accumulated, printed and sent to BCCI headquarters on February 2nd. But this didn’t prove to be enough as BCCI rejected Sourav Ganguly’s entry into IPL-4 after a meeting of all franchises.
Just prior to launch of IPL, NDNKKR launched its leaflet campaign, which took the city by storm. One lakh leaflets were printed and distributed across the city and its suburbs, along with the morning newspapers, asking people to boycott KKR. The emotional messages struck a strong chord with the Kolkatans. Leading vernacular daily, Aajkal, reported about our campaign in detail. It was on the day counters opened for the sale of IPL tickets in Kolkata. The effect it had on the first IPL match was fascinating. Eden was empty like never before. This was followed up with a high tech and innovative sms campaign. Six lakh sms’s were sent out to mobiles in Kolkata asking people to boycott KKR and IPL without Dada. It was the first such effort in the country by any such group for a sportsperson. The entire concept was a runaway hit and it struck chords with all sports lovers in the city. Pretty soon it got reported in leading Bengali daily Bartaman who also mentioned the efforts made by KKR and its owner Sharukh Khan to counter NDNKKR.
The impact of the NDNKKR campaigns was stunning. On the very first match that KKR played in its home ground, Eden Gardens, the ground was more than half empty. Official estimates pegged the footfall at 20,000 in a ground with a capacity of close to 70,000. Kolkata, the city of Joy, stayed away from the match being played without its favorite star. This led to a knee jerk reaction from KKR management with ticket prices being drastically reduced for all following matches. Big size hoardings came up all over Kolkata requesting people to come to Eden and cheer for the home team. Although this lead to a marginal improvement in situation, Eden was never sold out to capacity in the entire season. With IPL reaching almost mid-season and no signs of Dada’s imminent comeback, NDNKKR decided to step up its interactive campaigns to put pressure on franchises and BCCI. It was decided to enter Eden Gardens as a sign of defiance with No Dada No KKR banners and posters. A group of 30 NDNKKR members went inside Eden Gardens with white chart papers which was letter converted to NDNKKR banners and prominently displayed in the galleries. Within a couple of days of the Enter Eden campaign Dada was back in IPL, playing for Pune Warrios India, as a substitute for injured Ashish Nehra. NDNKKR reached Hyderabad where Dada played his first match against Deccan Chargers. Hyderabad roared in unison for Dada and it was an emotional return!! On 19th May 2011 it was battle royale with Dada facing of against his erstwhile team KKR at D. Y. Patil stadium in Mumbai. NDNKKR arranged for a joint Mumbai-Pune campaign, wherein about 50 members from Mumbai and Pune reached D. Y. Patil stadium with the NDNKKR banner. A bus was arranged from Pune, to take the members, while those from Mumbai came in cars. A campaign of such a huge nature was a first of sorts!
In the coming days NDNKKR would be involved in using its huge resources, outreach and manpower to set up a social welfare trust and foundation to help out the underprivileged sections of the society. On Dada’s birthday, 8th July 2011, NDNKKR undertook a novel attempt to share the joy with small kids at an orphanage in Chennai. It was a small step forward to getting involved with social causes. NDNKKR also looks forward to support their icon Dada in IPL 5 where he would be captaining his side in stadiums in all parts of the country. NDNKKR would also campaign for the naming of a gallery at Eden Gardens as the Sourav Ganguly Stand, as a fitting tribute the greatest ever captain of the Indian cricket team. NDNKKR would also be a forum to protest against future injustices and the politicization of sports in the country, which leads to many a bright talent getting nipped in the bud.
- Hi Virinchi, I imagine the issue with this was (if you take a look at User:Virinchi523/NO_DADA_NO_KKR) it comes up as an empty page even though you have text written there. In this case the problem was this line:
<!--- Important, do not remove this line before article has been created. --
- This line makes the text not appear; those first five characters indicate a comment (which can be useful when editing an article in order to leave a comment to other editors but not readers) but in this case it has caused patrollers to think the article is empty.
- What I would recommend you do: Delete that line and continue working on this article in its current location (your userspace) until it is of a standard acceptable to you (perhaps take a look at WP:Manual of Style which contains many useful tips and links) and then recreate the article in its original location.
- In the case of this particular article, I would say consider rephrasing some parts so that it better adheres to the tone Wikipedia expects of articles and definitely replace the less neutral words in there. I would say approach writing this article by trying to document what happened as opposed to exalting the efforts of NDNKKR. It is much less likely to be deleted this way.
- Happy editing!

can you please tell me which are the phrases that you find in-appropriate??
- Hi Virinchi, There are a lot of problems with the article in its current state, which is why this page has been so quickly nominated for "speedy deletion" again. btw, instead of tagging that as {{proposed deletion}}, if you are the original author of the article and no one else has made major contributions, you can tag it with {{db-self}} which makes the process much simpler. Here are some suggestions
- Don't use personal pronouns like 'we'.
- Don't use sentences with heavily connoted and unverifiable words or phrases like "...leaflet campaign, which took the city by storm." or "The effect it had on the first IPL match was fascinating" Instead, simply say the result of the leaflet campaign (to the extent verifiable by your source) in a neutral voice eg: "In preparation for the next IPL match, No Dada No KKR used leaflet and sms campaigns, and purchased tickets off would-be match attendants to encourage boycotting and create artificial scarcity which resulted in lower turnout in the cricket match." Note that even this sentence has a problem: 'lower turnout' can't be verified by that source because it would be quoting an obviously biased primary source.
- Don't say things like "greatest ever captain", sentences like this are clearly expressing an opinion.
- Don't use slang like 'kids'.
- Don't discuss the future (WP:FUTURE)
- I think the reading which would help you the most are WP:WORDS and WP:NPOV for help with the non-neutral tone of your article and WP:N and WP:RS for properly citing and providing evidence of notability of the group.
- Best of luck,
--Carbon Rodney 13:06, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi there, Virinchi. As requested, I have reviewed the article you submitted and, for now, have declined its creation. The main problem with the article is its tone - it is not written from a neutral point of view. If you can improve the article so that it does not present any viewpoint on the group, it will probably be accepted. Sentences such as "The impact of the NDNKKR campaigns was stunning.", which sound supportive of the movement, should be removed and replaced with more neutral wordings. There are quite a few instances of this in the article. Once you fix that problem, it will probably be ready for submission. Thanks for your great work on the article. Adding information about NDNKKR to Sourav Ganguly
editI see what happened, your edits were reverted as 'fancruft' and not relevant or important. You need to make an argument that your content belongs on the page. You have to claim that this is not a mere fan movement but a significant social uprising that occurred in response to an event in his life. You should make your argument in two places. One, on the page of the editor who reverted you: User_talk:Legolas2186. Two, on the article's talk page: Talk:Sourav_Ganguly. Just like any content, you need to add it with <ref>references</ref>. Choose the reference that most strongly links Ganguly to NDNKKR. Don't put that content back before trying to get feedback at the two places I mentioned. Good luck!
