If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Calvert McAllister Jones requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. • My advice to new editors is that it is best to start by making small improvements to existing articles, rather than creating new articles. That way any mistakes you make (which you will, because we all do) will be small ones, and you won't have the discouraging experience of repeatedly seeing hours of work deleted. Gradually, you will get to learn how Wikipedia works, and after a while you will know enough about what is acceptable to be able to write whole new articles without fear that they will be deleted. Over the years I have found that editors who start by making small changes to existing articles and work up from there have a far better chance of having a successful time here than those who jump right into creating new articles from the start. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 22:49, 23 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
The article you wrote had two main problems: Firstly, it did not cite any reliable third-party sources such as newspapers or reputable magazines discussing Jones in any detail. Wikipedia content should be a summary of what such sources have reported about the subject. See WP:Identifying reliable sources and WP:Referencing for beginners on what sources are considered reliable and on how to easily cite them, respectively.
Secondly, the tone of the article was blatantly promotional. Phrases such as "Clients can expect a professional yet personalized service" are utterly unsuitable for an encyclopedia article.
Furthermore, the article at times talked of the subject as "me", indicating that you are Jones. In that case you should read the guideline on conflicts of interet and WP:Autobiography. In short, writing about yourself is strongly discouraged because it's very difficult to do so from a neutral point of view. Huon (talk) 23:43, 23 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Advice edit

If you continue trying to write about Mr. McAllister Jones in the way you have been doing, you will continue failing, and you will frustrate yourself.

I strongly recommend that you begin by writing a draft of the article, and then submitting it for review by someone who knows what they're doing.

I also recommend that you omit all details about Mr. McAllister Jones that you obtained directly from him. Use only published sources. DS (talk) 18:59, 30 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ok thank you for your suggestion. Would you be available to review a draft as per your recommendation? VincyVoice (talk) 00:34, 1 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

April 2022 edit

Hello VincyVoice. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:VincyVoice. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=VincyVoice|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 19:06, 30 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello Timtrent,
I DO NOT have or expect any monetary compensation for this article. I have written pieces on art and public figures before which were publish in ezines and no, I was not monetarily compensated for those either. I am simply trying to expand my writing skills as a young writer and doing my best to improve and adapt my writing voice to comply with Wikipedia's rules and regulations. Again, I confirm that I am not receiving any compensation and would gladly welcome any suggestion(s) to make this submission passable for Wikipedia. VincyVoice (talk) 00:32, 1 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, User:VincyVoice/sandbox edit

Hello, VincyVoice. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or draft page you started, "sandbox".
