Jury Duty (TV series) edit

In reference to both your editor assistance request and the slow motion edit war that has been going on at this article, there are some key points that you need to read up on and be aware of. As you have claimed to be the creator and producer of the show[1], you should make sure you have read your guidelines on WP:COI. If you have issues with the content of the article, you should be wary of engaging in an edit war over them, rather you should engage other editors on article talk, explaining your reasons, with any references or sources you can supply. I understand that you have been having particular issue with some claims that were completely uncited. You are right in that contentious material should always be cited to reliable sources. The trouble is, that with your potential conflict of interest, you are unlikely to see the situation resolved amicably merely by edit warring over it. You were right to seek assistance but you should also attempt to engage other editors and achieve a consensus. The burden of proof is on those who seek to include material, but equally, attempts to remove material by an involved party will likely be treated with suspicion, whether that is right or wrong. I have been talking with the other party about the need to cite material but it would be in everyones' best interests to continue discussion at article talk and not continue a revert war. Let me reiterate one more time. Please do not continue to revert other editors without engaging in dialog with them on article talk. Your apparent IP was blocked previously for a 3 revert violation. Please note that 3RR is not limited to simple 3 reverts within 24 hours and editors who continue to make reversions in a content war may be blocked in order to prevent further disruption. Please display good faith by explaining your position on article talk, or this situation is only going to continue and will likely lead to the article being protected from further editing until actual consensus has been reached. Hi Vincent, your posting crossed with mine. You need to post that proof on article talk rather than my talk page so the other editors you have been disagreeing in can view it and comment on it. I am not takjng a stance on whether it is true or not at this point, I am merely trying to prevent an edit war and ensure policy is adhered to. Mfield (Oi!) 15:39, 3 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits edit

  Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 15:45, 3 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Reiteration on conflict of interest edit

  If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Jury Duty (TV series), you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 16:04, 3 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
