HMS
editAs an aside, the abbreviation "HMS" refers to "Her Majesty's Ship" and writing "The Her Majesty's Ship" or "The HMS" is regarded as poor grammar. One might, however, correctly refer to an event or installation or similar using the direct article, eg. "The HMS Sydney Memorial". See the note here under "United Kingdom". --Pete (talk) 00:12, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
Thank you for the corrections - very helpful. By the way, in this context "HMS" refers to "His Majesty's Ship" (King George III). Veritas Accuratus (talk) 08:48, 21 August 2021 (UTC) Veritas Accuratus

This is a concern being raised at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ships#HMS Minden article sbout your contributions to the article. Normally they'd probably notify the editor but I think there is an attempt by busy people to gain consensus of how to handle concerns. I certainly have concerns the style of the contributions, possible use of WP:UNDUE weight/ This and also unsourced WP:OPINION seems to have disrupted the article. I mulled what to do but have chosen reversion and raising a disrupted discussion of the contentious fact. Thankyou. Djm-leighpark (talk) 18:53, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
