Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2014 Grigor Dimitrov tennis season, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kevin Anderson (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Grigor Dimitrov ‎ season articles

edit

Please do not create Grigor Dimitrov season articles except and unless he wins a Major tournament for the year in question. It is against consensus to do so. And linking templates and redirecting pages to your own userspace to get around that consensus is a huge mistake that could have administrative consequences. Please don't do it again. Thanks. Template:Tennis win percentage

edit

Hi Vencin, thanks for making this template. I would like to start using it, but for some purposes, for example articles like Open Era tennis records – men's singles, it would be very helpful is there was an option to leave off the % symbol and just produce the bare number, e.g., 80.53 instead of 80.53%. Also it would be great if there was an option to set the number of decimals, for example to 1 or 3 in addition to the current options 0 and 2. Would you be able to add parameters for these options? Thanks for your time, Gap9551 (talk) 17:29, 13 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your quick help! Gap9551 (talk) 22:04, 14 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

One last thing. Would it also be possible to have a parameter that shows decimal zeroes? For example when rounding to 2 decimals, it would produce 85.30 instead of 85.3. Gap9551 (talk) 18:31, 15 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Zeros will only appear if the decimals parameter is used: {tennis win percentage|won=5|lost=5} => 50% and {tennis win percentage|won=5|lost=5|decimals=2} => 50.00% --Vencin (talk) 13:57, 16 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thank you! Gap9551 (talk) 14:41, 16 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Jumping in here, after learning of this template today. What would be most useful for the records pages is a template that could cover 2 columns: both win % (as Gap9551 has worked with you here) and the next column listing the W-L record itself. That way we'd only need to update the W or L value once and it would populate both fields. Is this possible with templates? -Testpored (talk) 23:54, 21 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Great idea, Testpored. Gap9551 (talk) 01:14, 22 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
Just made a new template and the first edit with it! Thanks, @Vencin, for extending your win % template to accomodate our records table needs. The new one leverages it and adds the 2nd column we need in the records tables. -Testpored (talk) 22:39, 25 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
