Articles for deletion nomination of Sipaayi edit

An article you created, Sipaayi, has been nominated for deletion. It may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sipaayi. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message.

The main problem with this article is it is not clear whether it meets the guidelines for film at WP:FILM. I have searched for references for both Sippaayi and Sipayi and cannot find much information. Is it possible there might be reviews of the article in Kannada or Telugu newspapers that could be used? pablohablo. 08:33, 31 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

That's okay Pablo. As soon as I find some information on Sipayi, I will post it! Thanks for the message. Veera.sj (talk) 10:19, 1 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
Okay - good luck! pablohablo. 10:24, 1 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Help re. German and Sanskrit edit

{{helpme}} I would like to contribute about the similarities in German and Sanskrit languages. Does wikipedia already has such an article, or should I create a new one?

I can't see much. There is a mention in Sanskrit and German language, but nothing significant. If you can write about it with reliable sources, then by all means, go for it. Note, we do not do original research - it must be sourced.
I recommend that you first develop it in your user space - for example, make a page called User :Veera.sj/test - just click that red link and create the page. You can edit that as much as you like, and develop something there - that way you can ask people to check it before it goes 'live'.
Good luck, and if you do need more help, either;
Best wishes,  Chzz  ►  07:02, 2 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Welcome from Chzz edit

Hi, Veera.sj. This is NOT some automated message...it's from a real person. You can talk to me right now. Welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you've just joined, and wanted to give you a few tips to get you started. If you have any questions, please talk to us. The tips below should help you to get started. Best of luck!  Chzz  ►  07:03, 2 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

ようこそ
  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

Interesting. It does, however, need lots of references. All the facts must be verifiable. So, it needs some reliable sources. I will add some information below on how to add these. If you need more help with it, please use another helpme - or get live help with this. Cheers!  Chzz  ►  10:40, 2 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

How references work edit

Simple references edit

These require two parts;

a)
Chzz is 98 years old.<ref> "The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009. </ref>

He likes tea. <ref> [http://www.nicecupofteaandasitdown.com Tea website] </ref>
b) A section called "References" with the special code "{{reflist}}";
== References ==
{{reflist}}

(an existing article is likely to already have one of these sections)

To see the result of that, please look at user:chzz/demo/simpleref. Edit it, and check the code; perhaps make a test page of your own, such as user:Veera.sj/reftest and try it out.

Named references edit

Chzz was born in 1837, <ref name="MyBook">
"The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009.
</ref> in Footown.<ref name="MyBook"/>

Note that the second usage has a / (and no closing ref tag). This needs a reference section as above; please see user:chzz/demo/namedref to see the result.

Citation templates edit

You can put anything you like between <ref> and </ref>, but using citation templates makes for a neat, consistent look;

Chzz has 37 Olympic medals. <ref> {{Citation
 | last = Smith
 | first = John
 | title = Olympic medal winners of the 20th century
 | publication-date = 2001
 | publisher = [[Cambridge University Press]]
 | page = 125
 | isbn = 0-521-37169-4
}}
</ref>

Please see user:chzz/demo/citeref to see the result.

For more help and tips on that subject, see user:chzz/help/refs.

Speedy deletion nomination of Vedam (film) edit

A tag has been placed on Vedam (film) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Dubbing edit

{{helpme}}

  • Allu Arjun. This film was dubbed into Malayalam with the same name.
  • Desamuduru. This film was dubbed into Malayalam with the name HERO. (There are other articles with the same name.)
  • Parugu. This film was dubbed into Malayalam with the name KRISHNA. (There are other articles with the same name.)

Can I create articles for this malayalam dubbed versions? Please suggest the naming convention, as that is my very botheration, at this moment.

If the name did not change then all it needs is a sentence in the original article saying for instance "Allu Arjun was also dubbed into Malayalam."
If the name changed, you can do two things:
  1. Write a sentence as above, saying "Desamuduru was also dubbed into Malayalam with the title "Hero"."
  2. Create a page for Hero (Malayalam film) that contains a redirect to Desamuduru.
Hope that helps  pablohablo. 13:53, 12 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
Also, before creating a new article page, make sure that the subject of the article meets our requirements for stand alone article pages, i.e. having significant third party coverage in reliable sources.-- The Red Pen of Doom 19:43, 12 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

External link guidelines edit

In most cases, including the link you added to Mohanlal, youtube links do not meet our external link guidelines and will be removed from articles. Reinserting such inappropriate links is considered disruptive behavior and can lead to your account being blocked. -- The Red Pen of Doom 19:41, 12 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Manjula edit

Hi Veera

Do you know anything about Manjula? I have a query at Talk:Manjula (actress).  pablohablo. 12:43, 22 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, Pablo, I donno anybody with that name, what's your query? Veera.sj (talk) 11:24, 27 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
It's OK, I think we've sorted it out, there was some confusion over several actresses called Manjula!  pablohablo. 16:37, 28 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
I had a look over them. Manjula Ghattamaneni is the daughter of Krishna Ghattamaneni, who is known to be the Super Star of Telugu Cinema. She has acted in a movie and has been producer for many movies, in which her brother Mahesh Babu Ghattamaneni has played the lead. Ramesh Babu Ghattamaneni, the elder brother has been playing lead roles in telugu movies when I was a kid. The other Manjula is from Kannada film industry who has played heroine's roles in many telugu movies in 70's. Rightly quoted in Wiki, she has three daughters. Veera.sj (talk) 05:19, 30 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes I think both those articles are OK now, although you could always add to them!. There is an article for Mahesh Babu but not for Ramesh Babu - do you want to start one?  pablohablo. 05:27, 30 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

I do not have much information on him. But if I find something, definitely I would create the page. Veera.sj (talk) 13:49, 1 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Veera.sj (talk) 15:31, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

I can't help you with this; I know practically nothing about portals, and rarely look at them myself. Perhaps you intended to ask another editor about this? Cheers, Easchiff (talk) 22:43, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Siyaram's Silk Mills edit

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Siyaram's Silk Mills requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. UtherSRG (talk) 15:35, 17 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Template:/box-header edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Template:/box-header, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Svick (talk) 19:04, 5 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Nikon COOLPIX L 26 edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Nikon COOLPIX L 26, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. David_FLXD (Talk) 04:21, 24 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Wikipedians interested in colored pencil edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Wikipedians interested in colored pencil, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. Speedy deletion nomination of ArtCurious edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on ArtCurious requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from bookpage.com/reviews/25437-jennifer-dasal-artcurious-nonfiction#.YNAtp2gzZPb and https://www.southbendtribune.com/entertainment/inthebend/arts/artcurious-podcast-illustrates-the-unexpected-and-slightly-odd-moments-in/article_c9a7d6ad-2966-583f-9f92-7859938139ad.html?redir=0#comments. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello Veera.sj, I am afraid that on reviewing your article, a substantial portion of the content appears tohave been copied from other sources. As outlined above, Wikipedia cannot allow material which may infringe copyright to remain. For your reference, I have copied my answer to your question on the article talkpage below:

Hello Veera.sj, the article needs additional sources which provide significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the topic. Many of the sources in the article appear to either have insignificant coverage of the subject of the article or they are not independent. I also have some concerns regarding the tone of the article; Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, we cover subjects neutrally regardless of how we perceive them. Statements such as Dasal starts her episodes by breaking the false notion many people have, that visual art is dry, boring and lifeless. or ... the psychological, emotional and mental shades in the personal lives of the painters/artists themselves. It unveils the biggest secrets behind the greatest art works and the changes art underwent with the passage of time.... Both the podcast and the book... reveal the often scandalous side of the art... would be better located in advertising for the podcast, rather than an encyclopaedia article. I hope that this is helpful. --Jack Frost (talk) 02:02, 15 August 2021 (UTC)

Translation edit

Hello! Strange request here, but an article about me and my Wikipedia work has been promoted to Good article status at English Wikipedia and nominated for similar status at Spanish Wikipedia. I'm curious if you have any interest in translating the entry for Telugu Wikipedia?

Figured I'd ask since your profile suggests you do translation work. Either way, happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:06, 8 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
