Warnings for adding commercial links edit

With all due respect, this is slightly ridiculous, Mr Stollery seems to have gone a bit power-crazy / uptight / (small country syndrome?)  ;-) The links are not commercial, they are actually useful to people searching on these topics. In fact, there are other similar links on some of the pages he removed mine from. (see the China search tool on the Hong Kong Page...)

Small country syndrome? Interesting comment considering you too are from New Zealand... Christchurch is it? I'm afraid vbinfo.net is a commercial link, after all, it does have a paid insertion option. I suggest you read Wikipedia:Spam#External_link_spamming and Wikipedia:External_links#What_should_not_be_linked_to. Enjoy your time here - Glen TC (Stollery) 11:12, 8 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yes, it was a tongue in cheek comment (note the emoction after it?). No, it is not a commercial link, there is no paid insertion option, I cannot figure out what you are on about there?? (please elighten me??!!) - genuinely confused on that one :-(

Once again, please read Wikipedia:Spam#External_link_spamming and Wikipedia:External_links#What_should_not_be_linked_to. While you're at it also read swicki FAQs where it says "Eurekster's revenue model is to add paid search elements to the results pages for swickis.". Trust this info will help - Glen TC (Stollery) 11:26, 8 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add commercial links (or links to your own private websites) to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links to the encyclopedia. See the welcome page to learn more. Thanks. - Glen TC (Stollery) 07:47, 8 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for experimenting with the page Digital photography on Wikipedia. Your test worked, and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. If you believe this edit should not have been reverted, please contact me. - Glen TC (Stollery) 07:49, 8 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

This is your last warning. The next time you insert a spam link, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. - Glen TC (Stollery) 07:50, 8 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
