Speedy deletion nomination of Template:The Evolution of Earth

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice that the page you created was tagged as a test page under section G2 of the criteria for speedy deletion and has been or soon may be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 17:50, 1 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism

edit

Please do not blank pages like you have on one of my userspace pages and on List of rivers of Australia. This is seen as vandalism and it can lead to you getting permanently or temporarily blocked from editing. If you want to experiment then you can do this at Wikipedia:Sandbox or in your own sandbox, but please do not do this anywhere else. If you are doing this because you are upset that I or others have deleted your pages, then this is not the right way to contest those deletions and as was said above, can lead to you getting blocked.

Also, please do not upload images that were previously posted elsewhere or are otherwise copyrighted to a company, individual, or organization, as you did with a map of the world and with a solar system chart. Both images were taken from other locations that have them marked as copyrighted material, so reposting them here without a very good fair use rationale is seen as WP:COPYVIO.

Finally, I would like to ask that if you want to create new pages, that you do this through WP:AfC. You've posted several articles in the template space, which is not the right place for an article. The content was also fairly brief in nature and didn't really show how they'd pass the various guidelines on Wikipedia. That's why AfC would be a better fit for you right now, as this would enable another editor to look over your work prior to it getting placed in the mainspace and if the article has issues you would be able to fix them. • I see at the top where you've said that if someone deletes your pages, you'll make retribution changes and try to get them blocked from Wikipedia. This is extremely against Wikipedia's policies and if you continue to do this you will get permanently blocked from editing. I was just going to warn you, but this statement gives off the impression that you have the intent to do it again, so I'm going to issue you a temporary block. During this time I want you to look over the basic editing policies and guidelines on Wikipedia. I need to again state that intentionally vandalizing other pages is not the right way to contest deletions on Wikipedia and is not tolerated. I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt that this was unintentional, but the statement at the top of the page pretty much shot that out of the water. Another thing to note is that nobody owns an article on Wikipedia, so if you post it in the mainspace (ie, anywhere "live") then others are free to edit or delete the article. But you did vandalize. And your stuff would get deleted again, most likely. So you'll be angry again. How you propose to change your approach to editing Wikipedia? --jpgordon::==( o ) 06:14, 5 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Speedy deletion nomination of V4N5H

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on V4N5H requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Problem with your custom signature

edit

You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software.

The problem: Your preferences are set to interpret your custom signature as wikitext. However, your current custom signature does not contain any wikitext.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, or you can fix your signature.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box. (It might already be empty.)
  4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

More information about custom signatures is available at Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing how everyone sees your signature. If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. Thank you. 18:03, 7 September 2020 (UTC)

Copying licensed material requires attribution

edit

Hi. I see in a recent addition to V4N5H you included material from a webpage that is available under a compatible Creative Commons Licence. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. It's also required under the terms of the license. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this licensing requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. — Diannaa (talk) 12:26, 3 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
