Ethnicity or sexuality should not generally be emphasized in the opening unless it is relevant to the subject's notability. Similarly, previous nationalities or the country of birth should not be mentioned in the opening sentence unless they are relevant to the subject's notability. I've read it thanks - I asked you for the two "easy to follow" policies you found "with on click". Again, if you want to police articles - learn the difference between a policy, a guideline and your opinion. If you demand high standards of "politeness" from others don't be impolite yourself. I only got involved because I chanced on this article in the printed version of The Independent (the pic in the online piece is not the same as the one in the printed edition, which actually shows some players of the club, not the opposition, and which also has a pic of Montgomery). It piqued my interest because I'd just read and watched Chrissie's evidence to the select committee inquiry on Women and Sport. See the links in the "Further reading" section at Chrissie Wellington - a pretty thorough demolishing of some of the attitudes you see in comments on the Independent piece - even ignoring the fact that she beats most of the men in her races. A strange fact: she is, by any objective set of criteria, one of the most outstanding athletes in any sport, of any era, of any gender, and yet she gets hardly any coverage. That reflects more on the media than it does on her achievements. Anyway, after reading the Independent, I tried to find the club on Wikipedia - not straightforward! I did think of pointing Glasgow City at the club, but settled, for now, for just putting a hatnote on Glasgow. I take great pride in the fact that for a while, the quality of women's national football team articles was better than the men's. It is good to see these articles worked on. (I've actually been learning a bit about blind football recently. I really wish they had a women's version because fun game to watch.) On the other front, New Zealand is probably next. The current article titles fail WP:V because two teams exist and the rules are gender segregated. The Pillars of Wikipedia still apply. Relative popularity of the Socceroos versus Matildas in people's interests

Google tracks search volume for teams. This shows the relative number of searches for Socceroos, Matildas, and australia national soccer team. The relative volume of searches for the men's team and women's team was the same in April 2004, June 2004, July 2004, September 2004, November 2004, December 2004, February 2005, March 2005, April 2005, May 2005, August 2005, November 2010, December 2010, February 2011, April 2011, December 2011, January 2012, March 2012, April 2012, May 2012, July 2012, August 2012, January 2013, February 2013, April 2013, August 2013, December 2013. From December 2005 to April 2006, the Matildas beat the Socceroos based on interest.
