Welcome to Wikipedia!

edit

Dear Vafthrudnir: Welcome to Wikipedia, a free and open-content encyclopedia. I hope you enjoy contributing. To help get you settled in, I thought you might find the following pages useful:

Don't worry too much about being perfect. Very few of us are! Just in case you are not perfect, click here to see how you can avoid making common mistakes.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Wikipedians try to follow a strict policy of never biting new users. If you are unsure of how to do something, you are welcome to ask a more experienced user such as an administrator. One last bit of advice: please sign any dicussion comment with four tildes (~~~~). The software will automatically convert this into your signature which can be altered in the "Preferences" tab at the top of the screen. I hope I have not overwhelmed you with information. If you need any help just let me know. Once again welcome to Wikipedia, and don't forget to tell us about yourself and be BOLD! Yanksox (talk) 01:09, 22 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Psychological horror

edit

Hi! Thanks for reminding me about psychological horror. I made the comment on the talk page before I learned how to Watch pages. ;) I changed to tag to {{horror-stub}} instead of {{film-genre-stub}} and redid the intro a little. Still needs some work, obviously, but it's a just a little more palatable now, right? :)

Sidenote - the "horror-stub" tag comes with just about the cutest icon I've ever seen on Wikipedia. :D Go see! Go see! (If you haven't already) Runa27 21:59, 7 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Natural Health Center

edit

Thanks for helping us work on the Natural Health Center page. In the fall term, a small team is going to fully revamp this page. For now, does it look a little better and less like an advertisement. Thanks! --17.255.241.54 23:54, 28 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Diocesan Infobox

To the Members of the WikiProject Catholicism

I have proposed at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Catholicism an infobox for Catholic Dioceses. If you have the time, would you check out User:SkierRMH/Diocese_Infobox and give me some feedback! Thanks much!!

Proposed deletion of Arkon Daraul

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Arkon Daraul, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Tagged for multiple problems since October 2007. About two paragraphs of speculation and original research, but not an article. The only (attempted) source was to a personal Geocities page. If there's ever going to be an article on this topic, scrapping and starting over would be the way to go.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
