CITY-DT-2 and WNED-TV edit

Yeah, sadly it appears that Rogers may have gotten a Rulemaking Modification for CITY-DT-2 to remain on UHF 31 instead of having to move to UHF 16... or at least a long extension due to the coronavirus epidemic. The FCC allowed for such a delay for some American TV stations already. The modification is here: http://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/prefill_and_display.pl?Application_id=0000ca1ada0093565020093565020000&Facility_id=9356502&Service=DT&Form_id=301

Unfortunately, foreign stations are not protected outside of their country when it comes to Canada and the United States of America, though we do try to avoid causing co-channel or adjacent-channel interference whenever possible (as per the NARBA). So, it seems people in Kitchener will no longer be able to tune in to WNED-TV unless they subscribe to Rogers Cable. I admit it's a total dick move for them to do this to a PBS station (I could ALMOST understand if it were a commercial station they were in direct or semi-direct competition with)... but c'est la vie... Glad you appreciate my information on radio and TV stations at least :D RingtailedFoxTalkContribs 05:45, 12 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
