Speedy deletion nomination of Jigsaw ESL

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Jigsaw ESL, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Altered Walter (talk) 16:35, 28 January 2013 (UTC)

Hello. I have contested your notification on Jigsaw ESL's talk page. If you could please tell me the reasons you think it is promotional, and point them out I will be more than happy to amend rather than you delete all my work and time?

Removing Speedy at Jigsaw ESL

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for taking the time to create a page here. It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed a speedy deletion tag from a page you created yourself. Because Wikipedia policy does not allow the creator of the page to remove deletion tags, an automated program has replaced the deletion tag you removed from Jigsaw ESL. Please do not continue to remove the deletion tag, instead, if you disagree with the deletion, you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to the page by clicking this link. Once there, select the button that says Click here to contest this speedy deletion.
  2. This will take you to the talk page, where you can make your case by explaining why the page does not meet Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion.

Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do. For further help about the deletion, you could contact the user who first placed the tag or a highly active user who is willing to help with deletion. This message was left by a bot, so please do not contact the bot about the deletion. Thank you, - SDPatrolBot (talk) 16:47, 28 January 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for your help - I have already contested the notification. I do not know what a bot is and I don't think I know how to find out who made the allegation...? Rosiehannah (talk) 16:51, 28 January 2013 (UTC)

Continued promotional editing

I have again nominated your article Jigsaw ESL for deletion as being unambiguously promotional in nature. I find it very concerning that your sole purpose on Wikipedia appears to be the creation of this article and promoting the company by inserting links to its website across multiple articles. It seems apparent that you are somehow affiliated with the company - I don't see how adding marketing blurbs such as "the company successfully established itself as a market leader" "strong links with many high street retailers" as being neutral and unpromotional. I'm curious, if you were no longer able to recreate the Jigsaw article or link to it in any articles, would you still edit Wikipedia? What topics would you be interested in? I'm concerned that if you are unable to stop promoting the company your account may be blocked as a promotional account. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 18:12, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for that. First of all, that is blatantly not my sole purpose when I have been a member for some months now and I have created a whole page already that was accepted and contributed to a multitude of articles within the beauty sector. You would see this if you looked at my contributions which are valid and reliable. It seems apparent that I am obviously not affiliated with the company but if you know of any jobs going that would be great. The 'marketing blurb' has been removed - you should have just suggested that that was suggestive - perhaps it was because I was reading info from their site and trying to put it in my own words. I can't help but think you have copied and pasted this message but replaced the article name - So I shall remake my point about the fact that I have contributed to a multitude of pages, so yes; I would still edit Wikipedia if it wasn't for Jigsaw ESL. Again, I edit the beauty sector - be it makeup, brand names, fragrances, cosmetics. Please see Coty,Inc. for a way of comparison. Is that promotional? No, because I used that as a guideline to create Jigsaw ESL. They are both the same kind of company within the same sector. It is very discouraging when new people are trying to edit Wikipedia for a more reliable source of information when the 'experts' are so quick to not just help but delete all someones hard work, research and typing. Of course I am going to link other Wikipedia pages to Jigsaw ESL because it features on SO MANY pages on Wikipedia - HENCE why I create the page in the first place. It is a distributor of celebrity perfumes and holds shares in companies.... It is a substantial company that obviously needs to be known to beauty fans, experts, celebrity-followers and so on. FiFi Awards (fragrance awards) for example hadn't had any updated awards for the celeb category and Jigsaw ESL won two awards so that left as it is is unreliable and lame. I was merely trying to create a necessary page. Rosiehannah (talk) 20:23, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

I appreciate that you are attempting to be less promotional in your prose but your edits continue to come off as very promotional in nature (my mistake was attributing it solely to Jigsaw ESL when it also includes Girls Day Out Show; it's hard to keep track as you keep blanking select messages from your page in lieu of archiving them which muddles your talk page history). Repeatedly (re)creating articles with promotional prose and going through multiple articles to add embedded external links to company websites and what amount to marketing blurbs are hallmarks of paid and promotional editing, which is why I'm trying to determine if this is indeed the case. You say that it is not, and that you are not affiliated with the products you write about, so I will take you at your word. Good luck with your future edits. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 23:43, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
Thank you for not deleting it. I read somewhere that Wiki was a place where the more experienced helped the 'newbies' and together we work to make Wikipedia a more reliable place with up-to-date info but when people are so quick to delete I don't find it fair when they could point out the exact problems first. Anyway, thank you again - I will now learn how to archive and continue to not be so passionate about my edits - ie - using less emotive, promotional language.
