I love reading books about impactful people from the past including kings and queens, entrepreneurs, and inventors that changed the world.

I just wrote my first Article for Wikipedia, called "MasTec, Inc." and have posted it for community input and/or approval.

Welcome to Wikipedia

Welcome to Wikipedia. I see you have created an article about MasTec. I think you did a very good job for your first edit. Keep up the good work. If you need any help or have any questions, drop me a line. GroveGuy (talk) 19:05, 6 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Do you like football?

edit

I see the work you are doing on Wikipedia. It seems to only be about Mastec. You don't work there, do you? Big NO-NO ! See: WP:CONFLICT. You should spread yourself out and edit articles about football teams or bridges in Oregon. Your article about Jose Mas has too much public relations puffery. Take it out. Also, your citation number two cites wikipedia to support his going to Columbus. Wikipedia is NEVER used as a source to support a statement. See: WP:CIRCULAR. Hi GroveGuy. I don't like football, but I do love theater and art, and will be posting on that. Mr. Mas is a friend, and I gave him "his very own wikipedia page" for a Christmas present. He's the kind of guy that you really can't give him anything he doesn't already have! He was quite tickled. The MasTec page I did because he brought it up at a dinner last year and I wanted experience creating one, so I offered to create one for him. Did not know about the circular reference. I'll fix that. I think there is a published alumni book. I'll check.

Look for me in Art. I just went to the Dallas Museum of art, so it got me thinking that I want to see what their wikipedia page looks like.

Thanks for your input on my postings. I really appreciate it!

PS - I don't really know how to email you; I assume I click "edit" on the area where you posted a message....

Uh, not a good reason to create an article. Some people might say he lacks notability. You need to add more citations about other accomplishments in his life. See this article about another Miami businessman for comparison: Phillip Frost. We don't email each other in wikipedia. We write on each other's talk page. Thanks for uploading File:Jose Mas at MasTec corporate headquarters in Miami, Fl.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy.
