Overlinking Samadhi

edit

Hello, I saw your edits of Samadhi and think that you overlinked the article (WP:OVERLINKING). Generally, a link should appear only once in an article. See also Wikipedia: Manual of Style/Linking for more info. Thanks JimRenge (talk) 15:57, 9 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Have removed the redundant links. Thanks for highlighting.UnusualExplorer (talk) 16:24, 9 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Samadhi

edit

Hi Explorer. I've removed your extended edits on Indian saints & samadhi per WP:UNDUE; too much, too specific. Imagine we'd add stories about every Indian saint who went into samadhi; the article would become an encyclopedia on its own. Best regards, Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 20:17, 10 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Reading suggestions

edit

Hi UnEp. Some reading suggestions:

  • Bronkhorst, Johannes (1993), The Two Traditions Of Meditation In Ancient India, Motilal Banarsidass Publ.
  • Vetter, Tilmann (1988), The Ideas and Meditative Practices of Early Buddhism, BRILL
  • Wynne, Alexander (2007), The Origin of Buddhist Meditation, Routledge

Especially Wynne is interesting for you; he argues for Brahmanical origins of Buddhist meditation! Best regards, Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 10:01, 23 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
