Please do not add or change content, as you did at Bania (caste), without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:13, 11 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Heba Aisha. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Heba Aisha (talk) 10:58, 13 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Find a WP:HISTRS complaint scholarly source for your additions. News sources and blogs are not reliable for caste articles. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:44, 30 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Bhai relibel source de to diya or kya de wiki pedia par khud likha h .

Unitedbaniya51 (talk) 14:31, 30 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Jab Wikipedia par hi likha ki gahoi is a part of baniya samaj to or kya source de Unitedbaniya51 (talk) 14:31, 30 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia is not reliable per WP:UGC (user generated content). Go though it please. I've linked it in the last post as well. Thus, you cannot use Wikipedia articles as sources. That Gahoi article uses news sources. News sources are not considered reliable in the case of castes. Find scholarly WP:HISTRS sources of historians, post 1947, since British era sources are not considered reliable as per WP:INB and other consensuses at Wikpedia. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 14:52, 30 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

  Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Bania (caste), you may be blocked from editing. Why don't you discuss your issues (along with sources) in Talk:Bania (caste) instead of edit warring and adding unsourced content in the article? I told you multiple times, that the article requires scholarly WP:HISRS complaint sources that too post British era. Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:28, 31 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Or kesa souce de de to diya source or kye . Kuch bhi mat dalo Wikipedia par . Shrif agarwal oswal porwal akle hi baniya nahi hote kai subcaste h Unitedbaniya51 (talk) 10:30, 31 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Link to de di or kesa source chaiye apko Mtlb app log kuch bhi dalogi hn Unitedbaniya51 (talk) 10:33, 31 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please converse in English. Discuss here. I know what you are trying to say but Wikipedia articles rely on sources. That is the reason why caste articles have much less data, since only they are based on reliable sources only. Find a good book source, post 1947 that is WP:HISTRS compliant, that says Gahoi are Bania. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:37, 31 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Caste and self-identification

edit

There are certain conditions when adding caste in an individual's article or adding name of an individual in a caste article. First, you have to have Wikipedia articles for them to be considered notable (WP:GNG). Second, you have to provide reliable source(s) (WP:RS) that the individuals belong to the caste if dead. Third, if the person is alive, you have to provide a source in which the person self-identifies his Bania caste, like an interview, where he/she says something like "I am a Bania" or "I belong to Gahoi family", etc. Assuming someone's caste based on their surname constitutes original research and if not self-identified (in the case of a living person) is not considered valid as per consensuses in WP:UNB. For more info visit User:Sitush/Common#Castelists as well as consesuses like this. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:42, 16 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
